Shire of Sunderoak


Being the report for the evening Court of Their Royal Majesties Rurik and Elspeth, King and Queen of Æthelmearc, with Their Heirs, Christopher and Maurya, Prince and Princess, in attendance.  Court held January 11th, AS 37 (2002) in Their Shire of Sunderoak at Æthelmearc Twelfth Night.  THLady Giulietta da Venezia, court herald, with the assistance of Lady Hrefna in heppna Thorgrimsdottir.

 His Excellency, Sir Ephraim, Baron of the Cleftlands and Emissary of His Royal Highness of the Middle Kingdom, brought greetings to Their Majesties and Their Highnesses.  He offered the friendship of His Highness of the Middle, and the hope of His Highness that such friendship would endure up to, and through, the great Pennsic War this summer.

Ciara inghean ui Maille was awarded Arms for her accomplishments in the scribal arts, as well as her assistance in the kitchens.  Scroll by Lady George Anne, THLord Cadell Blaidd du, and Mistress Graidhne ni Ruaidh.

Sorcha O'Ruairc was awarded Arms for her service in the kitchens and the feast halls of the Kingdom, as well as her work with children.  No scroll was present.

 Armand of Sunderoak was inducted into the Order of the Keystone for his work as marshal and head cook.  Scroll by Lord AEryk Blackhart.

Emerald d'Avignon was made a companion of the Keystone for service as marshal, autocrat, and cook.  Scroll by THLady Talisidhe of the Greenwood.

Katherine Sinclair was inducted into the Order of the Sycamore for her accomplishments in the arts of lace making and embroidery.  Scroll by THLord Cadell Blaidd du and Mistress Graidhne ni Ruaidh.

Michael Alewright was made a companion of the Fleur d'Æthelmearc and granted Arms for excellence in the bardic arts.  Scroll by Lady Hrefna in heppna Thorgrimsdottir and S. Lovechild.

Katja Davidova Orlova Khazarina was brought into the Royal Presence at the request of Baron Devon Adair Bartholomy.  Their Majesties spoke to her about her work as Kingdom Archivist, and her work as cook, as well as her teaching and research into all aspects of food.  Their Majesties then called for Their Most Noble Order of the Pelican. A Writ was read, and Her Ladyship was commanded to sit Vigil at the Festival of the Passing of the Ice Dragon, and to answer such questions as Their Majesties may ask at the conclusion of said Vigil.  Writ scroll by Mistress Yvianne de Castel d'Avignon.

Tarquinius Turnbull was made a Baron of the Court for his unfailing service to the Crown of AEthelmearc, among many things.  Scroll in progress by Dame Margaret Makafee.

The Court of Their Majesties was closed.

Herald's Note:  In a brief Court following the conclusion of evening Court, Their Majesties released THLady Antoinette de la Croix from her service as Kingdom Minister of Youth with thanks and gratitude.  Dame Aoife Finn was recognized as her successor.  Her Ladyship Antoinette was named Dean of the Page School.
