Coronation

Being the report for the First Court of His Royal Majesty Henri, Roi d’Æthelmearc.  Court held on September 20th, AS 38 (2003) at His Coronation in His Shire of Stelton Wald.  Giulietta da Venezia, Reporting Herald, with the assistance of Master Edmund Tregelles.
 
His Majesty placed the Ducal Coronets of His predecessors, Christopher and Maurya, upon their heads, and received their Oath of Fealty.  He then gave them leave to retire to their Duchy.
 
His Majesty asked to be attended by the Ladies of the Rose.  Affirming that He would reign alone, He entrusted the Queen’s Crown to the Ladies of the Rose, and entreated them to keep it safe until it could be placed upon the head of His successor’s Queen.  The good Ladies agreed that they would faithfully carry out His Majesty’s wishes, and would return the Queen’s Crown upon the occasion of the Coronation of His Heirs.
 
His Majesty received the Oaths of Service of the Officers of the Kingdom.
 
The Landed Barons and Baronesses of the Kingdom presented themselves before the Crown to deliver Oaths of Fealty.
 
His Majesty received the Oath of Fealty of the Companions of the Order of the Chivalry, and indicated that He would welcome personal Oaths while sitting in state.
 
His Majesty received the Oath of Service of the Companions of the Order of the Laurel, and indicated that He would welcome personal Oaths while sitting in state.
 
His Majesty received the Oath of Service of the Companions of the Order of the Pelican, and indicated that He would welcome personal Oaths while sitting in state.
 
The Royal Peers of the Kingdom presented themselves before the Crown for Oaths of Fealty or Service.
 
His Majesty called Sir Reinhardt von Berchtesgaden before Him and made him the Captain of His guard and Chivalry Advisor to the Crown.
 
His Majesty called Lord Stevyn le Reven before Him and made him the Sergeant of His guard.
 
The Court of His Majesty was closed.
