Baronial Investiture of Alonzia and Tatyana
Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands



Being the report for the Afternoon Court of His Royal Majesty Henri, Roi d’Æthelmearc, with Their Excellencies, Alonzio and Tatyana, Baron and Baroness of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands in attendance.  Court held on October 18th, AS 38 (2003) at the Investiture of Alonzio and Tatyana in His Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands.  Giulietta da Venezia, Reporting Herald, with the assistance of Aengus MacBain.
 
His Majesty invited Master Charles of Alden into His presence.  Master Charles announced that the Kingdom Thrown Weapons Championship had been held that day, and presented the five finalists in the competition to His Majesty.  His Majesty noted that Lord Constantine of Clan Blackhart’s fierce competitive spirit led him to achieve the highest score, and so chose him as His champion.  Lord Constantine was presented with the regalia of the Kingdom Thrown Weapons Champion by his predecessor, Lord Aidan Gunn.  His Majesty thanked both Champions as well as everyone who had competed in the day’s Championship.
 
His Majesty gave Their Excellencies, Alonzio and Tatyana, leave to conduct their Baronial Court.
 
Patrick McMoody was awarded arms for his skill at fencing, including his service as the Debatable Lands’ Fencing Champion and for teaching others the art of the rapier.  Scroll by THLady Kris Gilibari.
 
Degan of Coventry was made a Companion of the Order of the Keystone for his years of quiet service as Seneschal of Steltonwald and as Arts and Sciences coordinator for Æthelmearc War Practice.  No scroll was present.
 
Charles de Cayeux was made a Companion of the Order of the Keystone for his service as Seneschal of the College of Cour d’Or and for many hours spent in Baronial kitchens washing dishes.  Scroll by THLady Kris Gilibari.
 
Miriel Verdy was made a Companion of the Order of the Keystone for her service as Debatable Lands Gold Key liaison, for conducting sewing circles, and for teaching others to clothe themselves.  Scroll in progress with wording by Master Michael Alewright.
 
Gregory of the Debatable Lands was made a Companion of the Order of the Keystone for his years of quiet, behind-the-scenes service in any capacity in which he can be helpful.  Scroll illuminated by THLady Anna Eisenkopf and calligraphed by THLord Cadell Blaidd du.
 
Wilhelm von Stromberg was made a Companion of the Order of the Keystone for his skill as Debatable Lands Archery Marshal and Captain, teacher of archery, and for taunting French knights.  Scroll by THLady Aerin Teine.
 
Godwin Fitzhugh was made a Companion of the Order of the Sycamore for his skill at period encampments, Scandinavian style.  Scroll by THLady Hrefna in heppna Thorgrimsdottir.
 
Muirchein Gaelbane was made a Companion of the Order of the Golden Alce for her exceptional skill at archery, for loaning archery equipment to newcomers, for teaching and for building unique targets.  Scroll by Mistress Graidhne ni Ruaidh.

Kieran MacRae was made a Companion of the Order of the Fleur d’Æthelmearc for his skill at music, whether composing, performing or directing the Debatable Choir.  Scroll by Mistress Arianna of Wynthrope.
 
His Majesty summoned His Lordship, Zanetto da Como before him.  Having noted His Lordship’s skill at armoring, His Majesty asked His Most Noble Order of the Laurel to attend Him.  His Lordship was then presented with a Writ commanding him to present himself before His Majesty at the Kriskindermart event to be held on December 6th in His Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands to answer the question whether he would accept elevation to said Order.  His Lordship was then escorted from the Royal Presence by the Order.  Scroll by His Excellency, Master Will Langdon of Greymorne.
