Barony
of Delftwood
Being the
report for the Morning Court of His Royal Majesty Henri, Roi
d’Æthelmearc, with
Their Excellencies, Rian and Jennet, Baron and Baroness of Delftwood in
attendance. Court held on February
21st, AS 38 (2004) at the Feast of the Seven Deadly Sins in His Barony
of
Delftwood. Giulietta da Venezia, Reporting Herald, with

His Majesty gave
Their Excellencies leave to conduct their Baronial Court.
His Majesty
invited Their Excellencies, Rian and Jennet, into His presence. Their Excellencies advised His Majesty that
their tenure as Baron and Baroness of Delftwood had come to an end, and
asked
to be released from their Oath of Fealty to the Crown.
His Majesty then
asked if Their Excellencies had a successor who was ready and able to
assume
the duties of a Landed Baron, and they indicated that this was so.
His Majesty
welcomed Lady Fionnghuala inghean Dhiarmaida, Seneschal of Delftwood,
into His
Presence. Lady Fionnghuala attested
that there had indeed been a Baronial election, that it was conducted
with all
due propriety, and that Lord Oeric Lestrange was the successor chosen
by the
populace of the Barony.
His Majesty
requested the attendance of Lord Oeric Lestrange so that he could
witness the
Devestiture of Rian and Jennet. His
Excellency, Rian, removed the Baronial Coronet from the head of Her
Excellency,
Jennet, and returned it to His Majesty.
His Excellency then did the same with his own Coronet. His Majesty accepted the Coronets from Their
Excellencies and released them from their Oath of Fealty to the Crown.
Don Rian
Gortryan and Jennet the Gentle were created Baron and Baroness of His
Majesty’s
Court, and were presented Coronets marking their new station. Scrolls by Her Excellency, Yekaterina
Volkova.
His Majesty
instructed Lord Oeric in the duties and responsibilities of a
Territorial
Baron, and asked whether he was willing and able to accept same. Lord Oeric agreed. His
Majesty then accepted Lord Oeric’s Oath of Fealty, invested
him as the Seventh Baron of Delftwood, and set the Baronial Coronet
upon his

His Majesty gave
His Excellency leave to hold his Baronial Court.
His Majesty
asked those Companions of the Most Noble Order of the Laurel present to
attend
Him. His Majesty then summoned THLady
Honnoria of Thescorre into His Presence, and asked the Companions of
the Laurel
to escort her to the place prepared for her to sit vigil, and directed
the
Companions of the Laurel, the Peers of the Realm and the Populace of
Æthelmearc
to advise and counsel Honnoria as she contemplated her elevation to
said Order.
The Court of His
Majesty was closed.
