Barony of St. Swithin's Bog


Being the Report of the morning Court of Their Royal Majesties, Maynard and Christina, King and Queen of Æthelmearc with Their Highnesses, Rurik and Angelique, Prince and Princess of Æthelmearc and Their Excellencies, Ælfra and Aquila, Baron and Baroness of St. Swithin’s Bog in attendance.  Court held on July 17, AS 39 (2004) at Bog Chaos in Their Barony of St. Swithin’s Bog.  Giulietta da Venezia, Reporting Herald with the assistance of THLord Cadell Blaidd Du and Lady Sara de Lindley.
 
Their Majesties gave Their Excellencies leave to hold their final Baronial Court.
 
Drostan map Rioghnach was awarded arms for his courtesy and his skill as a fighter, dancer and herald.  Two scrolls were present:  the first, limned by Lady Keran Roslin and scrivened by an anonymous scribe; the second, scrivened by Katherine de Lyon de Savoie and limned by Lady Katerina de la Marne.
 
Catherine Viviane was awarded arms for her prowess upon the field of rapier combat.  Scroll scrivened by THLady Roberta McMoreland and limned by Lady Alessandra Bentivegna da Faenza, called Yasmina.
 
Mairi ni Aindreas was awarded arms for her service at feasts and demos, for her skill as a dancer and archer, and for her willingness to run errands for any gentle who is in need.  Scroll scrivened by THLord Cadell Blaidd Du and limned by Mariana of the Vayle.
 
Daniel MacCaulaeigh was awarded arms for his prowess upon the field of rapier combat, and for his support of the youth rapier combat program.  Scroll by Don Valentine Raphael de Peregoy and company.
 
Terrance Merrit McKlay was awarded arms for his prowess upon the field of rapier combat, and for his support of the youth rapier combat program.  Scroll by Don Valentine Raphael de Peregoy and company.
 
Their Majesties invited Their Excellencies, Ælfra and Aquila into Their presence.  Their Excellencies stated that their time as Baron and Baroness of St. Swithin’s Bog had come to an end, and that it was their wish to retire.  Lady Augusta Long, called Talishar, Seneschal of the Barony of St. Swithin’s Bog attested that a Baronial election had been duly held, and that Don Quinn Kerr and Dame Vivienne Marie de Beauvais were the successors chosen by the populace of the Barony.  Their Excellencies then returned their Baronial Coronets to Their Majesties, and were released from their Oath of Fealty.
 
Aquila Blackmore was created a Baron of Their Majesties’ Court.  Scroll scrivened by Blausa Korsakova and limned by Aurenca Mouly.
 
Ælfra Long was created a Baroness of Their Majesties’ Court.  Scroll scrivened by Blausa Korsakova and limned by Aurenca Mouly.
 
Their Majesties invited Don Quinn Kerr and Dame Vivienne Marie de Beauvais into Their presence.  They instructed Don Quinn and Dame Vivienne upon the responsibilities of serving as Landed Nobility, and asked whether they would accept this responsibility for the Barony of St. Swithin’s Bog.  Don Quinn and Dame Vivienne having agreed, Their Majesties invested them as Baron and Baroness of St. Swithin’s Bog, placed the Baronial coronets upon their heads, and received their Oath of Fealty.  Scrolls scrivened by THLord Cadell Blaidd Du and limned by Vrouw Odriana vander Brugghe.
 
Their Majesties gave Their Excellencies leave to hold their first Baronial Court.
 
Bastiano di Iacopo was made a Companion of the White Scarf for his prowess upon the field of rapier combat.  Scroll scrivened by THLord Cadell Blaidd Du with text and limned by Aurenca Mouly.
 
Their Majesties welcomed the Companions of the Most Noble Order of the Laurel into Their presence.  They then invited Her Excellency, Mairi ni Raghaillaigh into Their presence, and instructed the Companions of the Laurel to escort her to her place of vigil, that she might contemplate her elevation to said Order.
 
The Court of Their Majesties was closed.
