Being the Report of the afternoon Court of Their Royal Majesties, Maynard and Christina, King and Queen of Æthelmearc with Their Highnesses, Rurik and Angelique, Prince and Princess of Æthelmearc and Their Excellencies, Quinn and Vivienne, Baron and Baroness of St. Swithin’s Bog in attendance.  Court held on July 17, AS 39 (2004) at Bog Chaos in Their Barony of St. Swithin’s Bog.  Giulietta da Venezia, Reporting Herald with the assistance of THLord Cadell Blaidd Du, Lady Sara de Lindley and Lady Rowan Blackthorne.
 
Their Majesties gave Their Excellencies leave to hold their Baronial Court.
 
Ethna an Locha was made a Companion of the Keystone for her service in kitchens and at demos.  Two scrolls were present:  the first, by Her Excellency, Dame Margaret Makafee; the second, scrivened by Lord Aindreas macGhille Fiontagh a’Gath Argiod and limned by Rachel Dalicieux.
 
Griffin Fraser was made a Companion of the Golden Alce for his service as Knight Marshal, and for his skill at rapier and heavy weapons combat and archery.  Scroll by Her Excellency, Mistress Graidhne ni Ruaidh.
 
Sara Charmaine of Falkensee was made a Companion of the Millrind for her many years of service and support of her Kingdom and Barony.  Scroll by Lady Pleasance de Coignieres.
 
Filipia Capriotti was made a Companion of the Millrind for her many years of service in support of the Kingdom’s artisans and scientists.  Scroll scrivened by THLady Hrefna in heppna Thorgrimsdottir and limned by S. Lovechild.
 
Ambrosius MacDhaibhidh was made a Companion of the Scarlet Guard for his prowess upon the archery range.  Scroll by Lady Failenn de Cearsaigh.
 
Their Majesties invited His Excellency, Master Charles Stewart O'Connor into Their presence, and allowed him to serve as the Official of the Ceremony for the Promotion of the Zoste Patrikia.  He called forth the Patrikias, on this day also known as the Order of the Laurel.  He then led Her Excellency, Mairi ni Raghaillaigh into court, and presented her to the Sovereigns.  Their Majesties presented Mairi with her elevation robes, and bid her attendants dress her appropriately.  This being done, the Sovereigns heard the counsel of Master Remus Fletcher; Her Grace, Syr Rowan de la Garnisson; Her Grace, Sedalia MacNare; and Her Grace, Maurya Etain Sableswan, and agreed that Mairi was most worthy to be made a Patrikia.  Their Majesties presented Mairi with the symbols of her new rank, being a ring bearing the wreath of the Order of the Laurel (the gift of Her Grace, Sedalia MacNare), and a cloak.  Mairi was introduced to the populace by her new name, Patrikia Maria Agrissa Sgourina; she, in turn, thanked the populace and the Sovereigns for the honor done unto her.  Maria was presented the Record Book from her vigil, and Their Majesties received her Oath of Fealty.  Maria then gave gifts to the Sovereigns, Their Heirs, Their Excellencies, the Patrikias and the populace.  Scroll by THLady Alienor Russeal, text by His Excellency, Sir Mord Hrutsson the Green, upon vellum prepared by THLord Ængus MacBain.  (Maria’s ceremony was almost entirely based upon the 10th c. “Book of Ceremonies” of Constantin VII Porphyrogenete.)
 
His Majesty asked that He be attended by His Order of the Chivalry immediately following Court.
