Their Majesties asked Master Gille MacDhonuill, fourth Jewel of
Æthelmearc, to
attend Them. They presented him one of
the garnet stones cut by the hand of Master Jean Paul and intended as a
remembrance for the Jewels of Æthelmearc.
His Majesty inquired of Master Gille concerning a certain archery range
run by
him that day, which had rabbits for targets.
His Majesty asked all those archers who had participated in the
shoot to
stand, then noted that His personal arms do bear three bagpiping
rabbits upon
them. He commended the archers for
having the courage to shoot at His favorite animal.
Master Gille was quick to note that no Scottish rabbits were
featured in the day’s shoot, much less any playing the bagpipes. His Majesty accepted Master Gille’s
assurances, and thanked him for sparing the many talented archers who
had
participated from experiencing the Royal Wrath.
The Court of Their Majesties was closed.
