Being the Report of the Court of Their Royal Majesties, Malcolm and Tessa, King and Queen of Æthelmearc, with Their Sylvan Highnesses, Robin and Isabeau, Prince and Princess of Æthelmearc and the Landed Nobility of the Kingdom of Æthelmearc in attendance.  Court held on August 16, AS 40 (2005) at the Great Pennsic War XXXIV in Their Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands.  Giulietta da Venezia, Reporting Herald, with the assistance of THLady Matilda Bosvyle de Belle Aqua and Lord Rowen Cloteworthy of the East Kingdom.

Their Majesties installed Lord Magnus Tindal and Marcus as new Members of Her Majesty’s Guard.

Lord Seamus MacFergus presented a plaque depicting the Kingdom Arms for our new Kingdom Gate on behalf of his patron, Master Guillermo Bardicci.

Ulric of Thescorre was made a Companion of the Scarlet Guard and granted arms for his prowess in archery and for his service to the archery community as a teacher and constructor of archery ranges.  Scroll scrivened by Lady Pleasance de Coignieres, limning and text by Baronne Una de Saint Luc.

Their Majesties welcomed Their Majesties, Alaric and Noelle, King and Queen of the Middle Kingdom, into Their Presence.  Their Majesties of the Middle Kingdom presented gifts of scroll cases, scroll blanks, a banner displaying the arms of Æthelmearc and the Middle Kingdom, and a very large supply of cookies to Their Majesties of Æthelmearc and Their people.

Corwyn Montgomery was made a Companion of the Order of Merit for Martial Authenticity for his stylish appearance upon the field of rapier combat.  Scroll by His Excellency, Daniel Lightfoot.

Their Majesties summoned His Excellency, Syr Barak Elandris Bear the Wallsbane, into Their Presence.  Their Majesties spoke of Bear as a pillar of our Kingdom, and asked if their might be others who would agree.  Her Excellency, Mistress Judith of Kirtland, indicated that there were.  His Grace, Sir Morguhn Sheridan, Mistress Karana Yabokchi, Sir Andreas Hak and Her Excellency, Mistress Judith of Kirtland all spoke in praise of Bear’s many years of service and other fine qualities, especially his honesty, forthrightness and habit of plain and blunt speech.  All agreed that Bear is a brick, and ought to be recognized as such.  Their Majesties then called forth the Companions of the Most Noble Order of the Pelican, made His Excellency, Syr Barak Elandris Bear the Wallsbane a Companion thereof, and invested him with the regalia appropriate to his new station.  Scroll to be forthcoming.

Duncan of Wessex, more commonly known as Duncan von Halstern was made a Companion of the Keystone for his service to the Kingdom, especially for his management of the Royal Encampment at this Great Pennsic War.  Scroll to be forthcoming.

Ivan Piotrovich Pevcov was made a Companion of the Golden Alce for his prowess at rapier combat and for his service as marshal and teacher.  Scroll scrivened by Lady Anlaith ingen Trena and limned by Lady Rota Egilsdottir, upon a text by His Excellency, Sir Ogami Akira.

Illadore de Bedegrayne was given a Sigil of Æthelmearc for her service to Their Majesties during Their Reign. Scroll to be forthcoming.

Dorinda Courtenay was given a Sigil of Æthelmearc for her service to Their Majesties during Their Reign.  Scroll scrivened by Her Grace, Anna Blackleaf and limned by Aleyd von Kiel.

Otto of Westphalia was given a Sigil of Æthelmearc for his service to Their Majesties during Their Reign.  Scroll by Donna Niccola di Cristiano.

Henry of Maldon was made a Companion of the Keystone for his many years of service as a dancemaster, venturing far and wide throughout the Kingdom to teach others lightness of foot.  Scroll by Lady Kathryn de Lyon de Savoie upon a text by His Excellency, Sir Ogami Akira.

Her Excellency, Peregrine of Thescorre was made a Companion of the Cornelian for her exemplary courtesy.  Scroll by Lady Collette de Paris.

Ragnar Bloodaxe was awarded arms for his skill at heavy weapons combat, brewing, and making tents.  Scroll by Lady Sarra Moore.

Rioghnach ni Rise was made a Companion of the Cornelian for her exemplary courtesy.  Scroll to be forthcoming.

Thorvaaldr Frirsverth was made a Companion of the Sycamore for his skill in making knives.  Scroll scrivened by Lady Sofie Davenport and limned by THLord Edward of Denby Woods of the Middle Kingdom.

Elizabeth Conney was made a Companion of the Keystone for her service as arts & sciences minister and teacher, for her assistance at events, and for her skill at making banners.  Scroll by Lady Gianna di Aurelio.

Sueva the Short was made a Companion of the Fleur d’Æthelmearc for her skill at making and painting stained glass.  Scroll scrivened by THLady George Anne and limned by THLady Mea the Bold.

Ekaterina Volkova was made a Companion of the Fleur d’Æthelmearc for her skill at fashioning scroll texts based upon period sources.  Scroll to be forthcoming.

Gwenydd Olafsdottir was made a Companion of the Fleur d’Æthelmearc in absentia for her skill in cooking and Viking costuming.  Scroll scrivened by Her Grace, Anna Blackleaf and limned by Don Bastiano di Iacopo, to be conveyed to Gwenydd by Their Excellencies, Tomas and Rowan, Baron and Baroness of Blackstone Mountain.

Their Majesties proclaimed that Ariadne Flaxenhair of Dragon’s End and Stephen the Devious had been made Companions of the Order of the Fleur d’Æthelmearc at a Court held earlier in the day.

Their Majesties invited Daedez into Their Presence, after which she announced that a raid had been made upon a certain monastery.  During the course of the raid, certain documents meant to be conveyed to a particular individual were retrieved, and Daedez returned them to Their Majesties.  Their Majesties then called forth His Excellency, Sir Edward Zifran of Gendy and presented him the scrolls commissioned in commemoration of his Court Barony, Sigil of Æthelmearc, and Keystone.  Court Barony scroll scrivened by Lady Pleasance de Coignieres, limned by Her Excellency, Akiley du Remier and Baronne Una de Saint Luc, upon a text by His Excellency, Sir Ogami Akira.

Their Majesties expressed some confusion over the creation of a very Japanese Keystone scroll for the very Norman Sir Edward, and called forth His Excellency, Sir Ogami Akira.  Sir Ogami was made a Companion of the Keystone for his service to Crown and Kingdom, where he works, serves, and makes better.  Scroll by Baronne Una de Saint Luc, upon a text of 9 haiku by His Excellency, Sir Edward Zifran of Gendy, translated by Mistress Chai’usun.

Avarga Chagadaai was made a Companion of the Sycamore for his research and knowledge of Mongol culture and arts, and especially for his skill at cooking.  Scroll by Gülügjab Tangghudai et al., proclaimed in Mongolian by Gülügjab Tangghudai (“Puppy Khan”).

Mairghread ui Stilbhard uu Coinn (Margaret Stewart Quinn) was awarded arms for her service to her Kingdom and Shire as scribe and cook.  Scroll to be forthcoming.

Aleyd von Kiel was awarded arms for her service as scribe and teacher.  Scroll scrivened by Her Grace, Anna Blackleaf and limned by Aine O’Muirghesain and THLady Mea the Bold.

Genevieve du Vent Argent was given a Sigil of Æthelmearc for her service to Their Majesties during Their Reign.  Scroll to be forthcoming.

Their Majesties summoned Sir Christopher Rawlyns into Their Presence.  They praised him for serving as a shining example of our Kingdom’s virtues, and created him the nineteenth Jewel of Æthelmearc.  Scroll to be forthcoming.

Rhiannon y Bwa was made a Companion of the Millrind for her service as arts and sciences officer, autocrat, and most especially for her creation and maintenance of numerous websites for various Orders and groups.  Scroll by THLady Matilda Bosvyle de Belle Aqua.

Pleasance de Coignieres was made a Companion of the Millrind for her service to the scribal community and for her service as event autocrat.  Scroll by THLady Alheydis von Körckhingen.

Anna Blackleaf was made a Companion of the Millrind for her service as scribe and teacher, and especially for her willingness to scriven scrolls at a moment’s notice.  Scroll scrivened by Maitresse Yvianne de Castel d’Avignon, limned by Lady Aleyd von Kiel and gilded by THLady Mea the Bold.

Henri d’Artois was made a Companion of the Order of Merit for Martial Authenticity for his exemplary appearance upon the heavy weapons field.  Scroll by Maitresse Yvianne de Castel d’Avignon.

Geoffrey Maresfield was awarded arms for his service to Crown and Kingdom as founder of the Chalk Man Pub.  Scroll scrivened by Mym the Minx and limned by Lady Sarra Moore, upon a text by Sir Andreas Hak.

Hennessy MacAdder was awarded arms for his service to Crown and Kingdom as one of the Chalkmen.  Scroll scrivened by Mym the Minx and limned by Lady Sarra Moore, upon a text by Sir Andreas Hak.

Victor the Slav was awarded arms for his service to Crown and Kingdom.  Scroll to be forthcoming.

Their Majesties summoned Duncan Blackwater before Them.  His Excellency, Sir Alexander Caithnes of Wyk, informed Their Majesties that he had caught this Duncan Blackwater hunting with falcons upon Crown lands without leave, warrants or proof that he had the right or title to do so.  Sir Alexander asked the Crown to provide him with proofs of rank or station, or demanded justice to be done there and then in degree with the crime of trespass and poaching.  Their Majesties agreed to hear the case, and asked for those who would speak to Duncan’s nobility, character and so defend his nobility against the accusation.  Their Majesties heard the words of Sir Graedwyn mab Teyrnon, Lord Geoffrey Fitzodo de Montrouge, His Excellency, Sir Henri d’Artois, Her Excellency, Mistress Genevieve du Vent Argent, Her Excellency, Maestra Filipia Capriotti, Master Brendan Brisbane, Mistress Rhiannon y Bwa, Master Bedwyr Danwyn, Master Tofi Kerthjalfadsson, and Master James Cunningham. Their Majesties, finding Themselves in agreement with all that had been stated and declaring Themselves satisfied as to Duncan’s worthiness to hunt upon Crown lands, called forth the Companions of the Most Noble Order of the Laurel and asked them if they would have Duncan among them.  Their Majesties then asked Duncan if he would accept the accolade being offered.  Having received affirmative answers from all concerned, Their Majesties did invest Duncan Blackwater with the regalia of his new station, being a medallion (the gift of His Excellency, Sir Richard of Aldertree) and Hood.  Their Majesties received Duncan’s Oath of Fealty, and created him a Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Laurel.  Scroll by Mistress Kris Gilibari.

Lady Florian Dupommier expressed her thanks to the Sewing Guild of the Barony of Blackstone Mountain for their gift of ten new tabards for the Pennsic Heraldic Cry Staff.

THLord Cétach Fitzgibbon announced that he had raised $2500 for breast cancer research through the shoots he had sponsored this year.  He also presented a plaque to Their Majesties commemorating this fundraiser.

Their Majesties summoned THLady Talisidhe of the Greenwood before Them.  They complimented her skill in scribal arts, and wished to see more of her and her work.  They then recalled the Companions of the Most Noble Order of the Laurel before Them, and asked the Order to counsel Her Ladyship, that she might appear before Their Heirs, Robin and Isabeau, at Their Coronation, and answer the question whether she would accept elevation to said Order.  Scroll by Master Creature Twinedragon.  Their Majesties asked the Order of the Laurel to remain.

Their Majesties also summoned Don Ian Muir, called Keyard, into Their Presence.  They spoke of the excellence of his research into the art of the rapier, and directed the Most Noble Order of the Laurel to take him forth from Court and counsel him, that he might appear before Them upon the following day before the Rapier Champions Battle and answer the question whether he would accept elevation to the Most Noble Order of the Laurel.  Scroll scrivened by Don Bastiano di Iacopo, with limning and text by Don Corwyn Montgomery, translated into Italian by Maestro Lyev Davidovich.
