Being the Report of the Court of Their
Royal Majesties, Malcolm and Tessa, King and Queen of
Æthelmearc. Court held on April 22, AS 40 (2006) at Their
Coronation in Their Shire of Sunderoak. Giulietta da
Venezia, Reporting Herald, with the assistance of Her Excellency,
Margaret Makafee.
His Majesty again noted the threats posed to our Kingdom by forces
amassing on our Southern and Western borders. He called forth
THLord Magnus Tindal, the Champion of Æthelmearc, and asked
whether he would stand with His Majesty in defense, or challenge His
right to the Throne. THLord Tindal having agreed that Malcolm is
the True King of Æthelmearc, took up the Sword of State. He
cast down His Majesty's gauntlet before the populace and charged any
who would question that Malcolm is the true and rightful King to step
forth and take up the gauntlet, but cautioned all to beware the
Champion's blade. As none would take up the challenge, THLord
Tindal declared the honor of the Kingdom intact, and pledged that
it shall remain so.
His Majesty called for His inspiration to come forth, whereupon Her
Sylvan Highness, Tessa, came into Court escorted by Sir Finn Marland
O'Shannon and members of House Bedford. Tessa knelt and swore her
Oath to His Majesty and the populace, promising to protect and serve
the Crown and Kingdom of Æthelmearc, to uphold the laws and
customs granted to the populace, to defend these sylvan lands against
all foes, striking down any enemies to the peace of the Realm, to rule
justly and honorable in all matters, and to keep the people of
Æthelmearc foremost in her heart and mind. His Majesty then
crowned Tessa Queen of Æthelmearc, and She took Her place by His
side.
Their Majesties recognized the achievement of County status of Master

Their Majesties recognized the achievement of County status of
Maitresse Isabeau de l'Isle. Scroll by Her Excellency, Roberta

Their Majesties invited the Ladies of the Rose and the Royal Consorts
of the Kingdom of Æthelmearc to attend Them. They created
Her Excellency, Isabeau de l'Isle a Lady of the Rose, and commended her
to her sisters, who presented her a bouquet of roses and invested her
with the Rose Cloak of Æthelmearc. Scroll by Lady

Their Majesties received the Oaths of Service of the Great Officers of
the Kingdom of Æthelmearc.
The Landed Nobility of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands, Barony
of Thescorre, Barony of the Rhydderich Hael, Barony of Delftwood,
Barony of Endless Hills, and Barony of St. Swithin’s Bog presented
themselves before the Crown to deliver Oaths of Fealty. Their
Majesties charged the Populace to seek out the Landed Nobility, for
they are the voice of both Crown and Populace. They directed the
Populace to learn from them, so that the people of Æthelmearc
will always be united.
Their Majesties received the affirmation of the Oath of Fealty of the
Companions of the Order of the Chivalry. Their Majesties charged
the Populace to seek them out and learn from them such that the prowess
of Æthelmearc will be enhanced.
Their Majesties received the affirmation of the Oath of Service of the
Companions of the Order of the Laurel. Their Majesties charged
the Populace to seek them out and learn from them such that the
knowledge of Æthelmearc will be enhanced.
Their Majesties received the affirmation of the Oath of Service of the
Companions of the Order of the Pelican. Their Majesties charged
the Populace to seek them out and learn from them such that
Æthelmearc will always remain strong.
Their Majesties received the Oath of Service of the Royal Peers of
Æthelmearc. Their Majesties charged the Populace to seek
them out and learn from them such that the lineage of Æthelmearc
will continue to grow strong.
Their Majesties indicated that They would make Themselves available
throughout the day to hear personal Oaths.
Their Majesties summoned before Them His Excellency, Vladisla Nikulich,
invested him as Captain of the Queen's Guard, and charged him to defend
the Queen against all foes, to watch over her at all times, to conduct
himself in the same honor as His Majesty maintains His own affairs,
until death take him or His Majesty passes His Crown to His
Heir. Their Majesties also invested Lady Morgen of
Rye, Lady Esa Baird, Lady Anlaith ingen Trena, Lady Eowyn Swiftlere,
Lord Wulfr Drachenhand, Duncan MacAengus of Skye, and Lord Nugg
Treeswinger as members of Her Majesty's Guard.
His Majesty addressed the Populace thus: “Good people of
Æthelmearc. We have heard your oaths of service and
witnessed your dedication to the realm. Our person embodies the
Realm, but you are the lifeblood. A suit of armor is made of
different pieces all working together, and so it is with our
Realm. We stand here and by Our oaths and with our bodies We will
defend and champion the ideals of Our realm. On our doorstep lies
the enemy, come to claim that which is your own. Who among you
will stand with me against these invaders?”
The Populace answered that we will all stand with His Majesty and
defend the Realm against the invading foes. His Majesty charged
everyone to draw swords with Him, to don our armour and take the field
against this foe, and to defend our home by the side of our King and
Queen!
The Court of Their Majesties was suspended.
