Shire of Stormsport


Being the Report of the Court of His Royal Majesty, Malcolm, King of Æthelmearc with Their Sylvan Highnesses, Christopher and Morgen, Prince and Princess of Æthelmearc in attendance. Court held on June 10, AS 41 (2006) at Tournaments Through the Ages in Their Shire of Stormsport. Giulietta da Venezia, Reporting Herald, with the assistance of Sir AEngus MacBain.

Sir Ængus MacBain announced the results of the day's Youth Tournament. Ian, having prevailed against his brother Neil and Rouland of Willowbrooke, was named the victor, and presented his prize. Congratulations were offered to all of the youth combatants for their fine show of skill as well as honor, chivalry and courtesy throughout the day.

Una the Bashful was made a Companion of the Sycamore for her skill in scribal arts, culinary arts and tailoring. Scroll by Lady Mary Elizabeth Clason.

Tommasa Isolana was awarded arms for her service to the Kingdom, particularly for her participation in and promotion of canine activities. Scroll scrivened by THLady Antoinette de la Croix and limned by Lady Lara Sukhadrev, upon a text by His Excellency, Ogami Akira.

Elspeth the Unruly was awarded arms in absentia for her skill in scribal arts, and for her service as her Shire's Exchequer. Scroll scrivened by THLady George Anne and limned by THLady Keran Roslin.

Rannveigr Haakonardottir was made a Companion of the White Horn for her skill in and promotion of equestrian activities, and for her willingness to share her knowledge with one and all. Scroll by THLady Antoinette de la Croix.

Alexander Caithnes of Wyk was made a Companion of the White Horn for his skill in and promotion of equestrian activities, and for his willingness to teach any gentle who would learn. Scroll by THLady Antoinette de la Croix.

His Majesty received the Oath of Fealty of SIr Alexander Caithnes of Wyk.

Their Excellencies, Rannveigr and Alexander asked all those who had authorized as equestrians that day to come forward, and presented the seven new members of the Æthelmearc Cavalry to His Majesty and Their Highnesses.

Rynea of Stormsport was awarded arms in absentia for her service as a waterbearer and gate guard. Scroll by Lady Ismay Ponde, upon a text by His Excellency, Jehan de la Marche.

Orn Askelsson was awarded arms in absentia for his service at events, and for assisting with the Royal Encampment at the Great Pennsic War. Scroll by THLady Hrefna in heppna Thorgrimsdottir.

Daniel Lightfoot was made a Companion of the Golden Alce for his prowess at heavy weapons combat, and for his steadfastness and solidity in defending the Kingdom. Scroll by Lady Mary Elizabeth Clason.

His Majesty invited His Excellency, Maynard von dem Steine and Her Excellency, Liadain ni Dheirdre Caomhanaigh into His Presence, whereupon He praised their skill and dedication to armored combat. He asked Sir Maynard and Mistress Liadain to continue to stand with Him and protect His person in combat, and invested them as Royal Æthelmearc Lancers.

His Majesty further detained Her Excellency, Liadain ni Dheirdre Caomhanaigh, and spoke again in praise of her skill in armored combat. He commended her for the joy she brings to the field, and for sharing her enjoyment with everyone with whom she crosses swords. In recognition of these gifts, as well as her many other talents and considerable abilities, His Majesty created MIstress Liadain the premier recipient of the King's Award of Excellence.

His Majesty thanked everyone in attendance for contributing to the pleasure of the day, and bid everyone to share good food, good stories, and good companionship that evening.
