July 8, AS 41 (2006)
Pax  Interruptus
Barony of Thescorre

Being the Report of the Court of Their Majesties, Malcolm and Tessa,  King and Queen of Æthelmearc.  Court held July 8, AS 41 (2006) at Pax  Interruptus in Their Barony of Thescorre. Giulietta da Venezia,  Reporting Herald, with the assistance of THLady Pleasance de  Coignieres; His Excellency, Vladisla Nikulich; and THLady Matilda  Bosvyle de Belle Acqua.

Their Majesties gave Their Excellencies leave to hold their Baronial  Court.

Their Majesties invited Their Excellencies, Cedric and Peregrine,  Baron and Baroness of Thescorre, to attend Them.  They spoke fondly  of the service rendered to the Barony of Thescorre by Cedric and  Peregrine, and of the warmth and esteem in which they are held by the  populace of the Barony.  Cedric and Peregrine having declared their  intention to retire, Their Majesties divested them of their estate,  received the Baronial Coronets from them, released them from their  Oath of Fealty, and bid them take their comfort.

Their Majesties invited His Excellency, Steffan Wolfgang von  Ravensburg, Seneschal of the Barony of Thescorre, to attend Them.   His Excellency attested that a Baronial election was duly held, that  the Barony had indeed chosen successors to Cedric and Peregrine and,  as evidence of same, presented a Petition bearing the signatures of  members of the Barony.

Their Majesties invited Her Excellency, Marguerite de la Marche,  Seneschal of the Kingdom of Æthelmearc, to attend Them.  Her  Excellency testified that a Baronial election had been held, and that  all of the provisions of Kingdom Law regarding same had been satisfied.

Being well pleased with all that had been attested to, Their  Majesties invited Dame Katja Davidova Orlova Khazarina and Don Eric  Grenier de Labarre, Baron-elect and Baroness-elect of the Barony of  Thescorre, to attend Them.  After speaking of the duties of a Baron  and Baroness, and receiving Eric and Katja's assent to assume said  duties, Their Majesties did invest Eric and Katja as sixth Baron and  Baroness of Thescorre, received their Oath of Fealty, placed the  Baronial Coronets upon their heads, and invited them to take their  place alongside Them at Court.

Their Majesties invited Peregrine of Thescorre and Cedric the Humble  to attend Them.  After speaking again of the service they had  rendered to their Barony, Their Majesties also spoke of the nobility  and chivalrous nature of both of them, and of Their desire to make  these virtues known to one and all.  Their Majesties then invited the  Populace of the Barony of Thescorre to attend Them; the populace  presented a gift of Baronial Coronets made for Cedric and Peregrine,  and Their Majesties did create Peregrine of Thescorre a Baroness of  Their Court, and Cedric the Humble a Baron of Their Court.  Scrolls  to be forthcoming.

Their Majesties welcomed Her Excellency, Teresa Gabriella de Montoya  y Sevilla, Chronicler of the Kingdom of Æthelmearc, into Their  Presence.  Dona Teresa announced the availability of posters  depicting a map of our Kingdom, to be sold as a fundraiser for the  Kingdom and its fine newsletter, the Æstel.

Their Majesties presented tokens to those gentles attending their  very first event.

Their Majesties proclaimed the adjournment of Court, during which  time the Business of the Royal Courts conducted at Barony Wars and  Their Majesties' Royal Challenge would be read, along with the  changes to the Laws of Æthelmearc enacted at Their Curia Regis at War  Practice, at a nearby shady copse; Court would then reconvene at 5 of  the clock in the main feast hall.

Upon the Field of Combat at Pax Interruptus, Their Majesties did  create Caryl Olesdattir a Companion of the Millrind for her service  to her Kingdom, her Barony, and especially for her service as  Regional Deputy Seneschal and Seneschal of the Barony of Delftwood.   Scroll by Her Excellency, Graidhne ni Ruaidh.
