Shire of Herontir


Being the Report of the Court of Their Majesties, Christopher and  Morgen, King and Queen of Æthelmearc.  Court held September 30, AS 41  (2006) at Harvest Raid in Their Shire of Herontir. Giulietta da  Venezia, Reporting Herald, with the assistance of THLord Dagonell  Collingwood of Emerald Lake.

Her Excellency, Marguerite de la Marche, Seneschal of the Kingdom of  Æthelmearc, noted that the Incipient Shire of Blackwater had  fulfilled all of the requirements for advancement to full Shire  status, and presented gifts of favors bearing the Shire's arms as  well as tokens for each of the Shire's officers.  Their Majesties  invited members of the populace of the new Shire of Blackwater to  present themselves before Them to be recognized.  Favors and tokens  by Lady Nivah Catherine Rose of Bannockburn and friends.

The Shire of Blackwater presented gifts to Their Majesties, including  an invitation for Their Majesties to visit the new Shire upon a date  of Their choosing.  Invitation scroll by Lady Sofie Davenport.

Jacob of Herontir was made a Companion of the Cornelian for his  exemplary courtesy.  Scroll by Lady Renata Rouge.

Jane Atwell was made a Companion of the Sycamore in absentia for her  musical skills, which lend much to the atmosphere of our events.   Scroll scrivened by THLady Antoinette de la Croix and limned by Lady  Ismay Ponde, upon a text by His Excellency, Jehan de la Marche.

Cicilia Corsini was presented the scroll and medallion created to  commemorate her advent into the Order of the Sycamore, done at  Summer's End during the Reign of Malcolm and Tessa.  Scroll scrivened  by Her Grace, Anna Blackleaf and limned by Pomestnitsa Marija Kotokova.

Drugaur Mensch was made a Companion of the Golden Alce for his skill  at heavy weapons combat, as well as for his service as Knight Marshal  for the Rhydderich Hael.  Scroll scrivened by Her Grace, Anna  Blackleaf and limned by Lady Maeve Aislynn Ronan.

Lord Antonio de Luna announced the winners of the day's  competitions:  for Arts and Sciences, "Little Girl in Tudor Garb,"  outfit made by Lady Genevieve Ravencrest and modeled by her daughter  Cassandra; for Thrown Weapons, Lord Constantine Blackhart; for  Archery, Lord Muhallim ibn Rashid, called Milhim; for the Rapier  Bearpit, Don Iago Benitez; Fencers' Choice, Don Annanias Fenne and  Signore Vigo da Napoli; Rapier Marshals' and Listmistress' choice,  THLord John Michael Thorpe.

Tronose Modoc was made a Companion of the Golden Alce for his prowess  upon the archery range as well as for his willingness to haul targets  and equipment that others may enjoy shooting.  Scroll by Lady Juliana  Delamere, upon a text by Master Valgardr Gunnarsson.

Their Majesties called forth Their Archery Champion, THLord Ambrosius  MacDaibhidh, thanked him for his service, and proclaimed that They  had chosen THLord Caleb Reynolds as his successor.  Scroll by Her  Excellency, Roberta McMorland, upon a text by THLady Bryn ni MacRose.

Their Majesties called forth Their Thrown Weapons Champion, Master  Charles of Alden, thanked him for his service, and proclaimed that  They had chosen THLord Augusto Giuseppe di San Donato as his  successor.  Scroll by Her Excellency, Roberta McMorland.

Their Majesties called forth their Heavy Weapons Champion, Sir  Isenwulf Thorolfssone and thanked him for his service.  They  proclaimed that His Excellency, Maynard von dem Steine had proven  victorious in the day's tournament; however, in consideration of His  Excellency's responsibilities in modern life, They asked THLord  Hrothgar Ivarson to serve as Their Champion.  Scroll by Her  Excellency, Roberta McMorland, upon a text by THLady Bryn ni MacRose.

Brigitte von Eisenburg was made a Companion of the Keystone for her  service in many kitchens as well as for her willingness to clothe  newcomers to our Society.  Scroll scrivened by Lord Ardal of Antioch  and limned by Lady Sarra Moore.

Their Majesties invited Lord Lothinn Vikarsson into Their Presence.   He had asked for a moment in Court to present a token of his esteem  to Her Grace, Dorinda Courtenay, who was also invited to attend Their  Majesties.  Lothinn then presented Her Grace a most marvelous goose  egg, decorated by his own hand and bearing upon it Her Grace's arms  as well as diverse other symbols having great meaning for her.  Their  Majesties entreated the populace to seek out and admire this work of  art!

In recognition of her many years of service, inspiration, and  leadership to her Shire and her Kingdom, Dorinda Courtenay was given  the Æthelmearc Award of Excellence.

Keinven Ragnarsdottir was made a Companion of the Millrind and  granted arms for her many years of service as Herontir Chronicler, co- Chatelaine, and all-around helpful lady.  Scroll by Her Excellency,  Gillian Llewellyn of Ravenspur.

Their Majesties asked the Populace to rise and reflect for a moment  upon two gentles who have recently passed from our midst:  THLady  Caitlin Deirdre of Errelyn and Lord Broderick Wintermane.
