Court Reports of the Kingdom of
AEthelmearc
Christopher and Morgen
November 11, AS 41 (2006)
Fiber, Fabric and Fighting IV
Shire of Abhainn Ciach Ghlais
Being the Report of the Court of Their
Majesties, Christopher and Morgen, King and Queen of
Æthelmearc. Court held November 11, AS 41 (2006) at
Fiber, Fabric and Fighting IV in Their Shire of Abhainn Ciach
Ghlais. Giulietta da Venezia, Reporting Herald with
the assistance of Her Excellency, Margaret Makafee.
Their Majesties proclaimed that They had taken a detour from
Their journey to the Barony of Endless Hills at the request of
Master Bedwyr Danwyn, who had uncovered a conspiracy affecting
the security of the Crown, and who had pleaded for Their
Majesties' assistance.
Their Majesties called forth Master Bedwyr, and asked him to
explain his charges. He noted that he had found an unsigned
bit of correspondence with the seal broken, and in his efforts to
return it to its rightful owner, uncovered a plot involving a
good citizen of AEthelmearc and two accomplices in the
recruitment of spies within our Kingdom. The spymaster's
name was quite prominent in the missive, and Their Majesties
called for her to be brought forth. A rather large brute
then escorted Mistress Alicia Langland into the Royal Presence,
bound and gagged, to the astonishment of all in attendance.
Master Bedwyr repeated his charges before Mistress Alicia, who
did her best to deny everything despite her restraints.
Their Majesties finally agreed to allow her to speak, and ordered
her gag removed. Mistress Alicia then proclaimed herself a
loyal subject of AEthelmearc, and insisted that she was innocent
of the charges made by Master Bedwyr, as were her friends.
So vehement were her pleas that Their Majesties determined to
question the co-conspirators as well.
Their Majesties commanded the attendance of THLord Gilles de
Beauchamps and Mistress Rhiannon y Bwa.
Mistress Alicia became very agitated, and insisted that if there
were a plot, Master Bedwyr was also involved. Master Bedwyr
then implicated both Royal Heralds in the plot; and said heralds
also implicated His Majesty. His Majesty acknowledged His
complicity, and asked that the remaining co-conspirators be
brought forth.
Their Majesties then asked those Companions of the Most Noble
Order of the Pelican there present to attend Them.
Their Majesties then served upon THLord Gilles de Beauchamps and
Mistress Rhiannon y Bwa Writs of Summons directing them to appear
before Their Majesties at AEthelmearc Twelfth Night, there to
answer the question whether They will accept elevation to said
Order. Gilles' scroll text penned by Mistress Alicia
Langland within the pages of a book crafted for His Lordship by
Her Ladyship, Alienor Russeal. Mistress Rhiannon's scroll
by Her Excellency, Roberta McMorland.
The Court of Their Majesties was closed.
