Their Majesties proclaimed that, all necessary procedures and
protocols having been duly observed, Their Excellencies, Edmund
Dracatorr, Rosalind Ashworthe and Kelda ferch Ystwyth were
granted citizenship by the Kingdom of Æthelmearc.
Their Majesties welcomed all of them back home.
Their Majesties received Sir Theodric von Rostock, emissary of
Their Highnesses, Dag and AnneMarie, Prince and Princess of the
Middle Kingdom, who requested an audience with Their
Majesties. Their Majesties received Their Highnesses, Dag
and AnneMarie, who brought to Their Majesties' attention
rumblings from our Eastern borders, where our friends residing
there had once again become discontented, and who proposed to
march across our fair lands to engage in war with the Middle
Kingdom. Their Highnesses asked for Æthelmearc's
assistance in dealing with this matter.
Their Majesties were saddened to hear of the unrest upon our
Eastern borders, but noted that, Her Majesty's confinement being
nearly upon Her, They were likely to be attentive to more
personal matters in the near future. Their Highnesses of
the Middle Kingdom asked if there might be one who might lead the
Armies of Æthelmearc, and come to Their aid, whereupon His
Highness, Rurik, enthusiastically volunteered. His
Highness, Rurik asked Sir Magariki Katsuichi no Koredono, Earl
Marshal of Æthelmearc, to vouch for the fact that His
Highness had been studying the arts of war for some time,
whereupon Sir Koredono confirmed that this was indeed so, and
that His Highness had demonstrated his abilities in war at Their
Majesties' Crown Tournament, besting all comers. His
Highness asked Her Excellency, Marguerite de la Marche, Seneschal
of Æthelmearc, to confirm that He had been studying the
arts of diplomacy, whereupon Baroness Marguerite confirmed that
His Highness had won Their Majesties' tournament while observing
all of the laws and customs of the Kingdom, and that he had
undertaken the study of its Laws. His Highness then asked
Maestra Giulietta da Venezia, Silver Buccle Herald, to confirm
the fact that His Highness had also been studying the gentler
arts, whereupon Maestra Giulietta confirmed that His Highness is
indeed literate in both English and Utter Futhark, having
witnessed him reading scrolls in Court, that he could paint and draw
(l) at least as well as His Majesty, and that he did indeed prove
victorious in Their Majesties' tournament. Their Majesties
then proclaimed Their confidence in His Highness as Their Right
and True Heir, but asked for leave to complete certain business,
whereupon Their Highnesses of the Middle Kingdom withdrew.
Their Majesties called forth Her Majesty's guard, thanked them
for their service during Their Reign, and released them from
their oaths.
Their Majesties called forth those charged with the care of Their
Majesties' person, thanked them for their service during Their
Reign, and released them from their oaths.
His Majesty addressed Her Majesty, thanked Her for Her steadfast
help, support and inspiration during Their Reign, whereupon Her
Majesty knelt and His Majesty removed the Crown from Her
Majesty's head. Her Majesty then retired.
His Majesty called forth His Highness, Rurik, received Rurik's
Oath of Fealty, and crowned Rurik 20th King of Æthelmearc.
Thus did the Court and Reign of Their Majesties, Christopher and
Morgen, come to an end.
