Coronation
Incipient Shire of Riversedge


Being the Report of the Court of Their Majesties, Rurik and Angelik,  King and Queen of Æthelmearc, with Their Highnesses, Dag and  AnneMarie, Prince and Princess of the Middle Kingdom in attendance.   Court held on April 14, AS 41 (2007), at the Coronation of Rurik and  Angelik in Their Incipient Shire of Riversedge.  Giulietta da  Venezia, Reporting Herald with the assistance of THLady Matilda  Bosvyle de Belle Aqua and Lady Aibell Suil-Uaine, called Suilean.

His Majesty noted that He could not have proven victorious in Crown  Tournament, and could not properly serve the Kingdom as its King  without His inspiration by His side, whereupon he asked Her Highness,  Angelik, Princess of Æthelmearc, to attend Him.  His Majesty thanked  Angelik for inspiring Him in all of His endeavors, crowned her Queen  of Æthelmearc and received Her Oath of Fealty to the Kingdom.

Their Majesties called forth Their illustrious predecessors,  Christopher Rawlyns and Morgen of Rye, recognized the achievement of  County status of each of them, granted Morgen of Rye arms by letters  patent, and invested them with Coronets appropriate to their new  station as Earl and Countess of Æthelmearc.  Coronets by Captain John  Michael Thorpe; scroll by Maitresse Yvianne de Castel d'Avignon and  Sir Ængus MacBain.

Their Majesties asked the Ladies of the Rose and of the Garnet, and  those Royal Consorts present to attend Them.  With the approval of  the Ladies, Their Majesties created Morgen of Rye a Lady of the Rose,  whereupon the Ladies welcomed her into their sisterhood, invested her  with regalia appropriate to her station, and presented gifts.  Scroll  scrivened by THLady Antoinette de la Croix and limned by Lady Failenn  de Cearsaigh.

Their Majesties asked Her Excellency, Morgen of Rye, to remain in  Their Presence a moment longer, as They had not quite finished Their  business with her.  They spoke warmly of Their admiration for Morgen,  of the many ways in which she had inspired Them and many others, and  of certain discussions They had had with respect to the proper means  of recognizing these qualities.  Their Majesties then created Morgen  of Rye the twenty-third Jewel of Æthelmearc.  Scroll by Master  Jonathan Blaecstan, upon a text by Maestra Giulietta da Venezia.

Their Majesties received the Officers of the Kingdom of Æthelmearc,  who renewed their Oaths of Service.

Their Majesties received the Oaths of Fealty of the Landed Nobility  of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands; Barony of Thescorre;  Barony of the Rhydderich Hael; Barony of Delftwood; Barony of the  Endless Hills and Barony of Saint Swithin's Bog.

Their Majesties received the Companions of the Most Noble Order of  the Chivalry, who agreed to continue to serve in accordance with  their Oaths, and to defend Crown and Kingdom with the might of their  arms.

Their Majesties received the Companions of the Most Noble Order of  the Laurel, who agreed to continue to serve Crown and Kingdom in  accordance with their Oaths, and to beautify the Kingdom and teach  others their arts.

Their Majesties received the Companions of the Most Noble Order of  the Pelican, who agreed to continue to serve Crown and Kingdom in  accordance with their Oaths, and to continue to mentor others in the  ways of such service.

Their Majesties received the Royal Peers of Æthelmearc, who agreed to  bring noble deeds and deserving members of the populace to Their  Majesties' attention, and to provide Their Majesties counsel should  they see something amiss.
