Coronation
Incipient Shire of Riversedge


Being the Report of the Court of Their Majesties, Christopher and  Morgen, King and Queen of Æthelmearc, with Their Highnesses, Rurik  and Angelik, Prince and Princess of Æthelmearc in attendance.  Court  held on April 14, AS 41 (2007), at the Coronation of Rurik and  Angelik in Their Incipient Shire of Riversedge.  Giulietta da  Venezia, Reporting Herald with the assistance of THLady Matilda  Bosvyle de Belle Aqua and Lady Aibell Suil-Uaine, called Suilean.

Their Majesties called forth Her Excellency, Marguerite de la Marche,  Seneschal of the Kingdom of Æthelmearc.  Marguerite noted a change in  her life circumstances which prevented her from carrying out her  duties in accordance with her standards, necessitating appointment of  her successor rather sooner than expected.  Their Majesties thanked  Marguerite for her service, released her from her Oath of Service,  and called forth Her Excellency, Caryl Olesdattir, who had agreed to  assume the office of Kingdom Seneschal.  Their Majesties received  Caryl's Oath of Service, and invested her as Seneschal of the Kingdom  of Æthelmearc with Their thanks.

Their Majesties called forth Her Excellency, Alexandra of Clan  Donald, Exchequer of the Kingdom of Æthelmearc.  Her Excellency noted  that her term of office had come to an end, and as no worthy  successor had presented him- or herself to Their Majesties, she was  dropping dead on the spot, whereupon Their Majesties released Her  Excellency from her Oath of Service.  Their Majesties then announced  a search for Her Excellency's drop-dead deputy, and Mistress Cynthia  Love of the Tower having not been quick enough to escape Their  Majesties' eagle eyes, was duly called forth.  Mistress Cynthia gave  Her Excellency, Alexandra a gift in recognition of her service, and  agreed to take on the duties of Kingdom Exchequer.  Their Majesties  received Cynthia's Oath of Service, and invested her as Exchequer of  the Kingdom of Æthelmearc with Their thanks.

Their Majesties called forth THLord Ambrosius MacDaibhidh, Media  Representative of the Kingdom of Æthelmearc, who noted that his term  of office had also come to an end.  Although His Lordship's successor  was not present in person, Their Majesties assured Themselves that  Lord John MacPherson of Badenoch was indeed willing and able to  assume the office of Media Representative, thanked Ambrosius for his  service, and released him from his Oath.

Their Majesties called forth Lord William Parris, Queen's Rapier  Champion, who described the day's Queen's Rapier Championship to the  populace.  After much good and honorable combat, His Excellency,  Quinn Kerr had proven victorious, and presented himself before Their  Majesties.  Their Majesties thanked Lord William for his service, and  released him from his Oath.  Their Majesties received Baron Quinn's  Oath of Service, invested him with the regalia of Queen's Rapier  Champion, and bade him take his rightful place at Their side.   Blockprint scroll by Master John the Artificer, scrivened by Hrefna  in heppna Thorgrimsdottir.

Moira Reasgach was made a Companion of the Keystone for her gracious  service to her Kingdom, particularly for her tireless service at  events.  Scroll by Signora Niccola di Cristiano.

Ulf was awarded arms for his tireless service to his Kingdom and the  Incipient Shire of Riversedge, in which he had held several offices  while toting, fetching and carrying for all.   Scroll by Lady Muirgel  of the Rhydderich Hael.

Ælfgifu of the Glen was awarded arms for her tireless service to her  Kingdom and the Incipient Shire of Riversedge, as assistant to the  day's autocrat, and in many kitchens.  Scroll by Lady Mary Elizabeth  Clason, upon a text by Lady Morwenna Everdon.

Angus MacDubh was awarded arms for his tireless service to his  Kingdom and the Incipient Shire of Riversedge, and for serving as the  Autocrat of Coronation.  Scroll scrivened by THLady Antoinette de la  Croix and limned by Lady Ismay Ponde, upon a text by His Excellency,  Jehan de la Marche.

Angus MacDubh was made a Companion of the Golden Alce for his prowess  in martial combat.  Scroll by Her Excellency, Gillian Llewellyn of  Ravenspur.

His Majesty astonished all present by bolting from the dais, only to  return moments later with young Lyssa von Stahlgeist in tow.  Their  Majesties spoke of having known Lyssa since she was a toddler, and of  Their admiration for her willingness to serve wherever she can, most  notably as a Royal Retainer.  In recognition of her service, Their  Majesties awarded Lyssa von Stahlgeist arms.  Scroll by Mom, AKA Her  Excellency, Anna Eisenkopf.

Their Majesties called forth Sir Graedwyn mab Teyrnon, and spoke of  his many excellent qualities.  They noted that his skill at arms had  been recognized by his being made a Knight, and that he had been  recognized for numerous other good works, but felt that something was  lacking.  They then created Graedwyn a Baron of Their Court, and lent  him Her Majesty's own Baronial Coronet until such time as Graedwyn  may choose one of his own.  Scroll scrivened by Lord Bjorn bunhauss  Olafsson and limned by Lady Juliana Delamere, upon a text by Master  Valgardr Gunnarsson.

His Highness, Dag, Prince of the Middle Kingdom, thanked Their  Majesties and the Populace of Æthelmearc for the warm welcome and  hospitality They received as our guests.  They thanked Their  Majesties for agreeing to come to the aid of the Middle Kingdom at  the upcoming Great Pennsic War, and asked the Populace whether they  would raise arms alongside Their Majesties and Their Highnesses.   Having received the enthusiastic assent of the Populace, Their  Highnesses thanked our Kingdom for coming to Their aid.

The Court of Their Majesties was closed.

Immediately after Court, Their Majesties received the Companions of  the White Scarf, who presented Her Majesty with the symbol of their  Order, a scarf made especially for her and featuring abundant lace  made by the hand of Kearsarge MacGillivray.  Her Majesty was much  moved by the affection the Order has shown Her, and returned their  affection by wearing the scarf with pride in their skill and that of  Lady Kearsarge.
