Their Majesties summoned the former Silver Buccle Heralds of the
Kingdom of Æthelmearc before Them, then asked Baronessa Giulietta
da Venezia to join them. Her Excellency noted that it had
been her privilege and pleasure to serve Their Majesties and
Their illustrious Predecessors for the past four years, but that
the time had come for other hands to serve. Their Majesties
then called forth THLady Matilda Bosvyle de Belle Aqua, and with
the help of the former Silver Buccle Heralds, released Giulietta
from her oath of fealty, received Matilda's Oath of Fealty, and
invested her with the regalia appropriate to her new
Office. Giulietta presented Matilda gifts to help ease her
service--the magic salts given her by Master Edmund Tregelles, a
box of magical tablets calculated to soothe an aching head, and
an amber escarbuncle medallion, that she may bear the Escarbuncle
of our Kingdom close to her heart. Master Edmund Tregelles
presented Giulietta with a box of Life, symbolic of her passage
from public to private life. Giulietta then retired along
with the rest of the Brotherhood of Old Buccles, Silver while
Matilda assumed her rightful place as Their Majesties' herald.
Wishing to encourage the creation of more Companions of the
Silver Buccle, Master Brion Donall Gilbert presented a gift of
ten silver buccles to Their Majesties.
Their Majesties called forth the Ladies of the Rose and of the
Garnet, and asked them to name one combatant who would bear the
Shield of Chivalry. The Ladies chose His Excellency, Vladisla
Nikulich to bear the shield, which was graciously presented by
Lady Ariella of Thornbury, his predecessor. The Ladies also
called Their Majesties' attention to two other gentles who had
distinguished themselves this day: Lord Olafr
Thorvardharson, who had fought the day's bye fights, and Lord
Thomas Byron of Haverford, who had proven himself both chivalrous
and deadly in the lists.
That evening, after all had dined most sumptuously, His Majesty
sallied forth into the kitchens of the Keep and brought out one
James of the Vayle. Meeting Her Majesty before the High
Table, His Majesty declared himself well pleased with James'
efforts, and Their Majesties awarded him arms. Wishing to
further recognize James' skill in the culinary arts, Their
Majesties then did create James of the Vayle a Compaion of the
Sycamore. Armiger scroll scrivened by Isabella Ignazius
