Coronation
Shire of Riversedge
Court report of TRM’s Duncan and
Ilish from Coronation on September 15th A.S. 42 held in the Shire of
Riversedge as reported by THL Matilda Bosvyle de Bela Acqua, Silver
Buccle, with the assistance of Baron Fridrikr Tomasson.
His Majesty called for his Lady, Princess Illish, who came forth
escorted by her guard. He removed the coronet from her head and Crowned
her His Queen, then received her oath of fealty to AEthelmearc. The
Royal Lineage of the Kingdom was read.
Their Majesties called before them Rurik and Angelik. Angelik’s status
as a Duchess was recognized (scroll by Antoinette de la Croix). Rurik
was reinstated as a Duke (Royal Roll of Arms illum by Roana d’Evreux).
The Great Officers of the Kingdom came forward to give their oath of
continued service.
The Landed Nobility of the Kingdom came forward to give their oaths to
Their Royal Majesties.
The members of the most noble Orders of the Peerage each stepped
forward to give their oaths of continued service and fealty.
The Greater Royal Sanction of Absolute Banishment is continued against
Padashaw, modernly known as Kenneth Weaver.
Court was suspended as Their Majesties sat in State to receive the
populace during the afternoon.
Evening Court
Her Majesty’s guard swore an oath to protect Her person during the
coming months.
The Kingdom Seneschal, Countess Caryl Olesdatter, and her deputy for
new groups, Viscount Bear the Wallsbane, announced that the incipient
Shire of Riversedge had acheived the full status of a Shire.
Sir Sextus Plinius Callidus announced the winners of the day’s Youth
Tournaments. For Division II, Rouland of Willbrooke received a prize.
From Division III, Wolfgang von Carlson was named Their Majesties Youth
Champion.
Kingdom Minister of Arts and Science, Baroness Elizabeth von
Flossenburg awarded prizes to the winners of the ongoing essay contest:
Nigel of Southwood for Magic in the Middle Ages; Sueva the Short for
Make Your Own Runestone; Gabrielle d’Auvergne for Pilgrimage of Story-
on the trail of a tale.
Lord Robert O’Connor was created a member of the Order of the Golden
Alce for valor on the heavy weapons battle field (scroll illum by
Boudiccea Ravenhair, calig Ekaterina Volkova).
Lady Moire O’Shaughnessy was made a member of the Order of the Keystone
for her outstanding service (promisory scroll by Esa Baird).
Lord Stevan Ulfkellson was recognized for his artistry with wood and
leather and made a Companion of the Sycamore (rock by Maeve Ronan,
tunic by Marsi of Hadley).
Lord Malcom McAngus of Kinross was created a member of the Order of the
Sycamore for is many and varied artistic skills (scroll by Renota the
Posh Rot).
THLord Bradduh O’Donnghaile received the Fleur d’AEthelmearc for the
art of brewing and teaching alcohol appreciation (scroll illum by
Boudiccea Ravenhair, calig by Ekaterina Volkova).
Lady Tomasia da Collevento received a writ commanding her to
contemplate elevation into the most noble Order of the Laurel, to seek
out the wisdom of the Peerage and to give Their Majesties her reply
before the Passing of the Ice Dragon (scroll illum: Mea the Bold,
calig: Anna Blackleaf).
Their Majesties thanked the members of the Shire of Riversedge for
hosting such a wonderful event, and especially thanked the musician
whose performace enhanced Their Court.
