Report from TRM’s Duncan and Ilish’s last Court at the Coronation of Khalek and Branwyn on April 12, A.S. 42 held in the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael as reported by THL Matilda Bosvyle de Bela Acqua, Silver Buccle, with the assistance of Stephen Calvert deGrey.
THL Bronwyn MacFhionghurin was admitted to the Order of the Fleur d’AEthelmearc for her delightful knowledge of table setting and research into culinary history (scroll by Alessandra Bentivegna da Faenza).
Their Majesties bestowed Their heartfelt thanks to Patrikia Maria Agrissa Sgourina and Sir Mord the Green for all of their support during Their Reign.
The Silver Buccle Herald, THL Matilda Bosvyle, was called forth and presented with a token of thanks for her patience and kindness toward the Royal children.
Each of the following gentles were in receipt of the Sigil d’AEthelmearc and Their Majesties unending gratitude: Lady Jacquetta and Lord Beowulf, Lady Sophie Davenport, Lord Thomas Lestrange and Lady Esa Baird, Duchess Anna Blackleaf (in absentia), Duchess Dorinda Courtenay, Baroness Liaden ni Dheirdre Chaomhanaigh.
A horn was sounded, and a herald entered to announce that a horde of Mongols had been sited approaching the hall. Sir Khalek Shurrag Od arrived intent on claiming the throne of AEthelmearc. The Kingdom Seneschal, Countess Caryl assured Their Majesties that it was his right to do so. The former Kingdom Knight Marshal, Sir Koredono and the Silver Buccle Herald, THLady Matilda each confirmed that Khalek had been the victor at the previous Crown Tournament.
Their Majesties called for Their retainers and guard, thanked them for their service and released them from their duties.
His Majesty, King Duncan, at last turned to his lady wife, and speaking from his heart, thanked her for standing by his side these many months. With that, He removed Her Crown. Turning to His Highness, Khalek, Duncan asked if he was prepared to take up the burden of the Crown. In reply, Khalek swore his oath of fealty to AEthelmearc upon the sword of state. He did swear it to the Great Officers of State. He did swear it to the people of AEthelmearc. Duncan took the Princely Coronet from Khalek’s brow and replaced it with the Crown from his own head.
Thus ended the reign of Duncan and Ilish.
