Court report of TRM’s Khalek and Branwyn from Barony Wars on June 14th A.S. 43 held in the Shire of Sterlynge Vayle as reported by THL Matilda Bosvyle de Bela Acqua, Silver Buccle, with the assistance of Earl Yngvar the Dismal, a simple country Knight and herald.
Morning.
Their Majesties called forth THLady George and instructed those members of the Order of the Pelican to escort her to her vigil chamber and dispense unto her their collective wisdom on being a Peer.
Evening.
Their Majesties invited Baron Angus Kerr of Concordia of the Snows to join Their Court.
Their Majesties gave leave to his Excellency, Baron Ulrich of Endless Hills to hold a brief Court.
Their Majesties called before Them the autocrats of Barony Wars and Bazaar 3, Robert O’Conner and Eoghan Rurikson, who did announce the final results of the war points. Endless Hills was awarded 2 points and Baron Ulrich received a small siege engine and soldiers to train for next year’s war. Delftwood was awarded 4 points and likewise, their Excellencies, Artemius and Clarice, were gifted with a siege weapon and soldiers. As those in the hall collectively held their breath in suspense, it was finally announced that with 11 points, the Barony of Concordia of the Snows had won the day. The great war chest, over flowing with treasure, was presented to Baron Angus who declared that the prizes within would be divided among all those who had fought with Concordia in the various battles.
Lady Ysabeau Tiercelin presented Their Majesties with six red escarbuncled tabards for use by their retinue.
Lord Gavin Kent, one of the current Kingdom Bardic Champions and organizer of the day’s bardic competition, introduced the first of the three finalists, Mischief (Lady Helene al-Zarqa) who performed a song on the theme of “the Steppes”.
Lord Septimus Severius Salvatoriensis Caecus was awarded the Order of the Keystone (in absentia) for his aid in the kitchen, teaching and loaning armor (scroll by Magnus Tindal and Etain ingen Dalaig).
The second finalist for AEthelmearc bard was Lady Gwenhwyvar Morwyn who recited an original poem on the theme of “love far away”.
Lady Mariana Pietrosanti was created a member of the Order of the Keystone for her service as archer, cook and tollner (scroll by Mairghread ui Stilbhard uu Coinn).
The third finalist in the Bardic Champion competition, Baron Fridrikr Tomasson av Knusslig Hamn told a Norse tale on the theme of “archery on battle”.
Lady Eadaoin ingen Chanacain was given the Order of the Keystone (in absentia) for service to the archery community, Arts and Sciences and work as an autocrat.
Their Majesties invited before Them THLady George Ann. As her herald, Lord Malcolm fitz William, recited her accomplishment, her banner was brought forth and her entourage showered the populace with sweets, and yet George was not there. At Their Majesties request, Baron Fridrikr exited the hall to retrieve the wayward lady and brought her before the Court, protesting that she had other work to do at that very moment. Their Majesties reminded George of the one task They had set her to that morning. She affirmed that she did receive the council of the Peers and that it was her wish to be elevated to their ranks. The Court heard testimony of her worth and dedication, to AEthelmearc and the Society, from Earl Yngvar the Dismal speaking for the Chivalry, his lady, Countess Caryl Olesdatter, spoke words from Duchess Dorinda Courtenay on behalf of the Ladies of the Rose, Dame Aoife Finn of the Order of the Laurel demonstrated the impact of George’s service to one and all, and Baron Fridrikr also heralded her fine qualities, on behalf of the Pelicans. Master Brian of Leichester presented Their Majesties with the ancestral Pelican medallion and also one that had been handed down among the Kingdom Archivists to be bestowed upon George. Her husband, Lord Jakys the Cheesemonger, presented her a cloak made by the hand of Lady Deirdre the Hidden. George swore her oath upon the Sword of State to continue serving as she had done. Their Majesties, well pleased by these words, bid her rise and greet her companions as Dame George, Mistress of the Pelican.
Their Majesties requested farewell performances of the outgoing Bardic Champions Lady Dearbhforgaill an Chomhaidh and Lord Gavin. The three finalists were invited once again before the Court and Their Majesties announced that Their Sylvan Bard would be Baron Fridrikr.
Their Majesties thanked one and all for attending the event and participating in the various challenges. Her Majesty was particularly delighted by the presence of Her cousins from Her once and former home of Concordia of the Snows.
