Coronation
Shire of Heronter
First Court of TRM’s Christopher and Morgen from
Coronation
on September 20th A.S. 43 held in the Shire of Heronter as reported by
THL
Matilda Bosvyle de Bela Acqua, Silver Buccle, with the assistance of
Lord
Robert O’Connor, THLord Brandubh O’Donnghaile and Baroness Gwendolyn
the
Graceful.
His Majesty called for His Lady wife, HRH Princess
Morgen of
Rye and
asked
her once more if she was prepared to take up the burden of the Crown,
to stand
beside Him and be His partner and equal. She assented, and swore her
oath of
service to AEthelmearc upon the Sword of State. His Majesty placed the
gold
Crown of Fleur d’Lis upon Her brow and bid Her rise and take Her place
as the
Royal Lineage was read.
The Great Officers of State presented themselves
to Their
Majesties and renewed their oath of service.
The Landed Barons and Baronesses present being:
Barony Marche
of the Debatable
Lands, Thescorre, Rhydderich Hael,
Delftwood and St Swithin’s
Bog, did each in turn renew Their oaths to hold the land and protect
the people
for the Crown.
The Order of Chivalry came into court to promise
to renew
their oaths of fealty and service.
The Order of the Laurel
came before the Crown
to renew their oaths to serve and teach.
The Order of the Pelican was called in to renew
their oaths of
service to the Kingdom and Crown.
The Royal Peers of AEthelmearc presented
Themselves and
renewed their oaths to share their wisdom and serve AEthelmearc.
The Queen’s Guards presented themselves, and as
Her Capitan,
Shiro no Kaminari swore the oath of service on behalf of them all.
Their Majesties invited Khalek Shurrag Od before
Them and
recognized his new rank as Count, honoring him with an embattled
coronet and
scroll. As he had not served alone They also invited Branwyn ferch
Gwythyr into
Their presence, and called for the Ladies of the Rose
and Garnet. Count Khalek
set an embattled coronet upon her brow; the Ladies of the Rose
recognized her as their sister with a gift of roses and enshrouded her
in the
ancestral Rose cloak. Their
Majesties
conferred unto her Patent of Arms and recognized her new station as
Countess

Evening Court.
Their Majesties summoned the Youth Fighters from
the day’s
Champion Tournament along with the Jenna MacPherson
and Sextus
Plinius Callidus
who ran the Lists. Each fighter was presented with a bag and chocolates
and Roland was named
AEthelmearc’s Youth Combat Champion
for his skill and chivalry upon the field.
The Order of the White Scarf presented themselves
to Their
Majesties and welcomed Her Majesty back to the Throne, assuring Her
that they
would ever be at Her beck and call should she have need of their
services.
Don
Corwyn Montgomery
announced the winner of the Queen’s Fencing Champion Tournament and
called
forth Lord Clewin
Kupferhelbelinc to receive
the
regalia from the outgoing champion Joseph Kildonan

Their Majesties thanked THLady Odrianna
Vander Brugghe
for organizing Their Arts and Sciences Competition; Her Ladyship
expressed her amazement
for the outstanding quality of work that was presented. Their Majesties
chose Lord Pearce
Redsmythe,
who had crafted County
Coronets for
Khalek &
Branwyn, to join Their Court as Their Champion.
Their Majesties called upon the Seneschal of the
Canton of
Sunderoak, Sir
Angus McBain,
to thank him and the people of Sunderoak for their gift to the Kingdom
of four
straight trumpets, appropriate for courtly fanfares.
Baron William Freskyn
Murray
and his “partner in crime”, Baron Vladisla Nikulich,
announced that they would undertake a challenge on the field at Harvest
Raid,
some three weeks hence. There they will hold the field against all
fighters who
wish to challenge them, by single combat or in pairs, attempted to
match them
in all weapons forms to a count of blows, until such time as Their
Majesties
call them into Court. There will be no winners or losers, simply a
fight for
the joy of the sport.
Lady Cecily
of Whitehaven received the Order of the Keystone for service as
Chronicler,
royal retainer and camp Mom (scroll by Sofie Davenport).
THLady
Hildarun Hugelmann
was created a member of the Order of the Sycamore for her performances
with the
Debatable Choir and I Genisii (scroll by Isabella Montoya,
words composed and sung by Brandubh O’Donnghaile).
Baroness Clarice Roan
was made a Companion of the
Sycamore for her bardic contributions in poetry and song (scroll by Catalina d’Colliano).
Lady Rowena Caithnes
was awarded the Order of
the Sycamore for her talent at Taiko drumming (scroll words by Ogami Akira).
Lady Katrina
of York
was Granted Arms and admitted to the Order of the Millrind for her long
service
as Kitchener and cook, tollner and autocrat
(scroll
by Roberta
McMoreland, words by
Alassandra Bentivegna
da Faenza).
THLady
Gabriella d’Auvergne was
summoned
by Their Majesties and issued a writ to appear before Them at a future
date to
answer if she will accept elevation to the Order of the Laurel
in recognition of her skill in the bardic arts and storytelling. The
Order was
called forth and instructed to council the candidate (scroll text in
old French
by Jehan
de la Marche).
Baron Geoffrey FitzDavid
was accused of committing
years of service to his Canton,
Barony and Kingdom as Exchequer and heavy combat Marshal. Their
Majesties
issued unto him a writ to appear before Their Court at a future date to
answer
if he will accept elevation to the Order of the Pelican. The Order was
called
forth and instructed to council the candidate (scroll by Aiden ni Leir).
