Court report of TRM’s Christopher & Morgen
from Harvest
Raid on October 11th, A.S. 43 held in the Shire of Heronter
in the
presence of Their Heirs, TRH’s Maynard & Liadain, as reported by
THL
Matilda Bosvyle de Bela Acqua, Silver Buccle, with the assistance of THLady Cigfran Caer
Gwalch.
Their Majesties were presented with a basket of 80
award medallions
paid as taxes by the people of Heronter.
Baroness Marguerite de la Marche and Duchess
Dorinda
Courtenay announced the winners of the day’s Arts and Sciences’ contest
–Brian
Engler (Badger boy), and fencing tournament – Don Iago Benitez.
The remains of what was once Baron William Freskyn Murray
and Baron Vladisla
Nikulich
presented themselves before the court to thank their families and
members of
their household for supporting them in their efforts to hold the heavy
combat
field against all challengers during the day. Vlad presented a Viking
rowing
chest, made by his own hand (with assistance), to one who had inspired
him by
his generosity: Sir
Angus MacBain.
William then spoke of the
gentle who
had inspired him to attempt this feat of arms, and presented a pine
box, made
by his hands, to Vlad.
Baron Caleb Reynolds,
standing in for Kingdom
Archery Champion THLord Constantine Blackheart, announced the winner of
the
Champion’s Shoot: Master
Jacopo di
Niccolo,
who accepted the regalia of his station and took his place among the
Their
Majesties Champions (woodblock print scroll unsigned).
Kingdom Thrown Weapons Champion, Lord Antonio de Luna
announced the winner of the Champion’s TW contest: Baron Caleb Reynolds
who was delighted to return to Their Majesties service and join the
retinue
(woodblock print scroll unsigned).
His Highness, Prince Maynard, expressed honor at having
been
asked by Their Majesties to run the Heavy Combat Champion’s Tournament
in place
of His Grace, Duke Morguhn
Sheridan, and was pleased
to have
conducted the multi-weapons challenge just as His Grace would have
wished. Of
the 41 entrants, the winner was Count Duncan von Halstern,
who gladly accepted the duty of Kingdom Heavy Combat Champion
(woodblock print
scroll unsigned).
Tiberius was Awarded
Arms for his
skill at heavy combat and willingness to do some of the heavy work off
the
field (scroll by Isabella
Montoya).
Isabele of Dunbar was Awarded Arms for her
outstanding work
as Royal liaison at several recent events and her many labors behind
the scene
(scroll by Rowan L’Crotha).
Aaron the
Swift
(former known as Quinn) received a Silver
Buccle for
his service as a youth combatant.
Lady Mary Elizabeth
Classon
was created a companion of the Order of the Sycamore for her
calligraphy and
teaching of scribal arts (scroll illum Gwyneth of Newtonhill, calig
Gillian of
Ravenspur, words Isolda filia Georgii).
Don
Iago Benitez
was summoned before the Court due to his many years of service to this
Kingdom,
and was issued a writ to seek out the wisdom of the Peers and return to
Their
Majesties to answer if he will accept elevation to the noble Order of
the
Pelican. Their Majesties called forth the Order and requested they
escort the candidate
and give him such advice to aid his decision (scroll by Dorinda Courtenay).
THLord
Hrothgeirr Ivarsson
knelt before the Court as Their Majesties credited him with quiet
pursuit of
heavy combat from which he seemed to derive and great deal of
enjoyment. They
charged him to appear before Them at 12th Night to sit vigil
in
contemplation of elevation to the Order of Chivalry. Their Majesties
called
forth the companions of said Order to council and escort him from the
hall (scroll

de la Croix).
Their Majesties invited Their Graces, Duchess Rowan de la Garnison and Duchess Meirwen
ferch Owen
to join Them before the assembled populace, who rose as one in their
presence. His
Majesties valiantly attempted to express to them His own personal grief
at the passing
of His Grace, Duke Morghun,
as well as the sorrow of the entire Kingdom. As They had planned to do
so from
the beginning of Their reign, King Christopher
and Queen Morgen, issued Duke Sir Morghun Sheridan
an Augmentation of Arms with a canton of the AEthelmearc Kingdom Arms
(scroll
by Arianna of Wynthrope).
