Barony March of the Debatable Lands

Being the Report of the Court of Their Majesties, Christopher and  Morgen, King and Queen of Æthelmearc.  Court held  November 1, AS 43 (2008) at the Amethyst Tourney in Their Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands.  Giulietta da Venezia, Reporting Herald with the assistance of  Lady Aibell Suil-Uaine, called Suilean.

Their Majesties invited Their Graces, Malcolm Duncan MacEoghainn and Tessa the Huntress to announce the winners of the Amethyst Tourney.  His Grace proclaimed His Excellency, Robin Wallace the victor of the tourney, and presented his scroll and prize - a gift certificate to the armorer of Robin's choice.  Master Robin addressed the populace, and described the manner in which he came to compete that day - by presentation of an invitation originally given to His Grace, Sir Morguhn Sheridan, and at the behest of Sir Morguhn's ladies.  Master Robin then offered a libation in memory of Sir Morguhn, to the acclaim of the assembled populace.  Scroll by Lady Renata Rouge and His Grace, Malcolm Duncan MacEoghainn.

Their Graces, Malcolm and Tessa, explained the history of the tournament, having its roots in the Emerald Joust, where the emerald was the prize for the combatant favored by the populace.  After noting that every combatant had received tokens of the populace's esteem, Their Graces proclaimed Sir Graedwyn mab Teyrnon the winner, and presented him the Amethyst Ring.

Their Graces thanked the event staff, Their Majesties, Their Excellencies of the Debatable Lands, and all of the combatants and populace in attendance for their contributions to a most excellent event.

Margretha la Fauvel was made a companion of the Sycamore in absentia for the joy she brings to the populace through her skill in vocal and instrumental music and dancing.  Scroll limned by Her Excellency, Boudicea Ravenhair, scrivened and authored by Her Excellency, Ekaterina Volkova.

Pavel Dudoladov was made a companion of the Sycamore in absentia for his delightful performances in the Commedia and Debatable Choir.  Scroll limned by Her Excellency, Boudicea Ravenhair, scrivened and authored by Her Excellency, Ekaterina Volkova.

Brandubh O'Donnghaile was made a Companion of the Golden Alce in recognition of his skill at the archery butts.  Scroll scrivened by Hrefna in heppna Thorgrimsdottir, upon a text by Fridrikr inn gamli grasgardr dvergr.

Ogami no Arashimoto Shirou was made a Companion of the Golden Alce in recognition of his skill in heavy weapons combat.  Scroll by Lady Roxanne de Saint Luc, upon a text by Sir Ogami Akira, translated into Japanese by Miyao no Chougou.

Margaret Makafee was made a Companion of the Cornelian in recognition of her exemplary courtesy.  Scroll limned by Lady Aibell Suil-Uaine, called Suilean, and scrivened by Maitresse Antoinette de la Croix, upon a text by Maestra Giulietta da Venezia.

Their Majesties expressed Their delight in the day's events, and thanked everyone for a most enjoyable occasion!
