Early afternoon.

As she was prepared to do so, Their Majesties welcomed the companions of that order to lead away the candidate and provide her their council.

Baron Geoffrey fitzDavid was invited before the Crown and asked if he was prepared to sit vigil in contemplation of elevation to the Order of the Pelican. With Geoffrey’s affirmation, His Majesty then insisted his squire of 4 years return His belt and chain, declaring that the candidate must make this decision as his own man, not as His Majesties squire. With that accomplished, the companions of the Order were called to Their Majesties presence and tasked to offer their council and guidance.

Late Afternoon.

Their Majesties gave leave for Their Excellencies to hold their court.

Mistress Bonita of Steltonwald gave prizes to the two entrants of the subtleties competition: 1st place to Lord Bovi Farmadr for his chocolate basket and candy fruit, 2nd place to THLady Myfanwy ferch Rhiannon for her sugar plate and marzipan fruit.

THLady Giana di Aurelio recalled by Their Majesties, was heralded into Their presence by Baroness Giulietta da Venezia and escorted by THLord Fintan na Coilled. They asked if it was her wish to be elevated to the most noble Order of the Laurel; Giana replied that she would be most pleased. Their Majesties then questioned the Order if they believed she was ready to join their ranks, to which they all responded ‘aye’. Their Majesties called upon the peers to speak of her worth: Countess Aidan ni Leir spoke for the Royal Peers about her former apprentice’s beautiful art; Mistress Bonita of Steltonwald spoke for the Order of Pelicans, Sir Kadan Chakilgahn for the Chivalry and Master Creador Twinedragon on behalf of the Laurels offered to educate any who were still in doubt of Giana’s talent. A cloak baring laurel leaves was brought forth and placed about her shoulders. Countess Aidan presented an enamel medallion made by the hand of Lady Lavina Knapp for Their Majesties to bestow, and Lord Bovi brought forth a brass wreath of Laurel which was placed upon her brow. Their Majesties called for the ancestral fruitcake of the AEthelmearc Laurels to be brought forth. The box was opened for one and all to see that it was still intact. Giana swore her oath of service upon the sword of state and Their Majesties bade her to rise as Mistress Giana (scroll by Mistress Alheydis von Korckhingen).

Baron Geoffrey fitzDavid recalled to Their Majesties court was heralded into their presence by Stevyn la Reven and escorted by his lady, Mistress Aoibhel of DunHolen. The companions of the Order confirmed that they had counseled him and that they would readily accept him as one of their own. Representatives of the peerages rose to speak of Geoffrey’s accomplishments and selfless service to the Kingdom: Countess Aidan, Sir Matthias Sean Cameron for the Chivalry, Mistress Amaryllis Coleman for the Laurels and Master Remus Fletcher for the Pelicans. His Majesty was also quite pleased to be able to call him His peer. A cloak adorned with a Pelican was presented to his Excellency, and Their Majesties placed about his neck the ancestral medallion of the AEthelmearc Pelicans. Geoffrey then swore his oath of fealty upon the sword of state, and Their Majesties bid him rise as Baron Geoffrey, Master of the Pelican (scroll illum by Antoinette de la Croix, calig by Hrefna fruikona).
