Saturday Noon Court upon the Battle Field.
Their Majesties summoned THL Constance Glyn Dwr. They spoke of her never-ending willingness to serve as Kingdom Chirurgeon, previously as baronial Chirurgeon to the BMDL, Chirurgeon in charge of War Practice and on several occasions Chirurgeon in charge at Blackstone Raids, where when she arrived and noted that no Chirurgeon was listed, volunteered her services and proceeded to treat dozens of fighters on the field for concussions, broken bones, dehydration and other heat related injuries. For these things Their Majesties gifted her with a bright and shiny Chirurgeon’s Medallion as a favor from Their hands as they bestowed upon her the Aethelmearc Award of Excellence.
Their Majesties heard the oaths of fealty from Baron Quinn Kerr and Baroness Vivienne Marie de Beauvais, Baron and Baroness of the Barony of St Swithins Bog.
Afternoon court at the Youth Fighting field.
King Maynard and Queen Liadain greeted the youth fighters and delivered words of encouragement to them to fight with honor, and called forward THL Jenna MacPherson of the Lion’s Tower to attend them. Their Majesties noted that she was always found working on lists, and called for those members of the most noble Order of the Pelican there present to attend them. Their Majesties then delivered to THL Jenna a writ of summons by the hand of Mistress Gillian Llwelyn commanding her to attend them that evening in court to answer whether she would accept elevation to the Peerage. Mistress Gillian further presented Jenna with a pair of rose colored glasses.
Their Majesties invited Their Royal Cousins Eikbrandr and Runa King and Queen of the Middle Kingdom to join them in Their Court.
His Majesty Maynard rose and thanked the populace for their attendance and labors during the course of the event. He went on to explain the format of the battles for this year upcoming Pennsic War and to announce the allegiance of Aethelmearc with the Kingdom of the Middle at that event.
Their Majesties gave leave to Their Majesties of the Middle to hold Their Court, and Their Majesties Eikbrandr and Runa called forth Viscount Alexander Caithnes of Wyk. Their Majesties spoke that this man had been instrumental in growth of the Midrealm’s Equestrian programs and as such did bestow upon him an augmentation of arms from the Middle Kingdom in the form of “A raven volant sable inverted wings overture.”
Their Majesties paused a moment to announce that several membership cards had been recovered from the field that day and that their owners ought to seek out lost and found.

Caryl spoke words that she would like to
introduce Baroness Clarice Roan as the new Chancellor of Youth for the
Their Majesties invited Maestra Tomasia da Collevento into Their Court. Tomasia had conducted a Wooden Pin competition of period cooking that day and announced that the winner had been Sir Aengus MacBain, to whom she presented a Wooden Pin badge to add to his collection.
Their Majesties invited Baron Caleb Reynolds into Their Court to report upon the Seven Pearls heavy weapons tournament which had been held that morning. Baron Caleb announced that it was his pleasure to announce that it was his own Champion of the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael Sir Sextus Plinius Callidus who had proven the victor undefeated in that tournament.
King Maynard called for his Archery Champion Master Jacopo di Niccolo to attend him. His Majesty first thanked Jacopo for his service to king and kingdom as archery Champion and also as autocrat for this event. Jacopo set his bow and quiver at His Majesty’s feet and proclaimed that there was a new champion to stand for the defense of Aethelmearc’s King, and called forward Lady Muirghein Gealbhain to take up the regalia of King’s Archery Champion. Queen Liadain noted that this was an auspicious occasion as Lady Muirghein was the first Lady to ever claim the honors of Kings Archery Champion. Their Majesties next called for Their Thrown Weapons Champion Baron Caleb Reynolds who had held a tournament to find his successor as well. His Excellency wished to recognize Robert of the Debatable Lands as the only youth who competed as an adult in the tournament. That day THL Antonio de Luna had proven superior with knife, axe and spear and claimed his right to serve as Aethelmearc Thrown Weapons Champion. Scroll by Lady Muirgel ingen Ghiolla Comhgaill.
King Maynard and Queen Liadain invited Their Sylvan Bard Count Jehan de la Marche to attend them. Count Jehan reminded the populace that the finals of the Sylvan Bard competition would be held after court in the Aethelmearc Royal Camp and that all entrants should attend Their Majesties there.
Their Majesties called forward Their Rapier Champion Lord Clewin Kupferhelbelinc. Lord Clewin announced that there had been a tournament of great prowess upon the field that day to select a new Queen’s Rapier Champion, and that the victor upon the field was Herr Josef Kildonen. Lord Clewin returned the regalia of the Queen’s Champion to Her Majesty and Queen Liadain did invest Herr Josef into his new post. Scroll by Dona Alessandra Bentivegna da Faenza.
Their Majesties invited Baroness Elisabeth Johanna von Flossenburg, Lady Felicity Flussmullnerin, Lady Mairghread ui Stilbhard uu Coinn, and Lady Deirdre Scot of Clan Scot to attend them as Seamstresses and Taylors to Their Royal Persons and gave each a token of thanks.
Their Majesties called forward Grizzly of Black Talon and spoke that they had heard of his deeds over the past several years raising tents, and moving tables, working security at War Practice. For all his service at events Their Majesties awarded him Arms, Scroll by Count Jehan de la Marche and Lady Ismay Ponde.
Their Majesties called forth Rouland of Willowbrooke, They had witnessed his deeds upon the youth combat field and had heard tell of his gentle and polite spirit and willing service, and so They awarded him Arms, scroll by Lady Mairghread ui Stilbhard uu Coinn.
Their Majesties inducted Lord Lukey ni Blackwood into the Order of the Golden Alce for his years of service to the marshal arts, serving as the Knight Marshal to the Shire of Ballachlagan. Their Majesties called Lady Renata Rouge into Their court and spoke of her unending service, she collected largess, produced scrolls, serving at events, and contributing to the Aestel; for these things Their Majesties inducted her into the Order of the Keystone. Scroll by Lady Zosia Kowalewska.
The King and Queen spoke further of Service and called for Lord Baldewin van Aaken. Baldewin had served the Shire of Nithgaard for years, cleaning sites, participating in demos, and securing winter fighting sites. Lady Esa Baird was invited into Their Majesties’ court, Their Majesties spoke of the garb that Lady Esa wore, and that which she made for others, and that which she entered into competitions, not just the garb, but also the scrolls she helped to create and pouches as well. For these things, Their Majesties inducted Esa into the Order of the Sycamore, Scroll Illumination by Lady Barbary Rose, Calligraphy by Mistress Gillian Llwelyn.
Their Majesties then called for Lord Verdi Stefan Vulfskin, also known as Stefan Legas, to attend them. They inducted Lord Stefan into the Order of the Sycamore in recognition of his teaching and researching period fencing manuals, and bardic traditions. Their Majesties were not yet satisfied with Their Order of the Millrind and so They summoned Lady Anlaith ingen Trena to attend them. The order confirmed that they would have this lady too counted in their numbers, and so Their Majesties named Lady Anlaith to the Order of the Millrind for her services as a scribe, herald, thrown weapons marshall, archery marshall, teacher, royal guard, retainer, sewer of favors, set up crew, clean up crew, and more services rendered to the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands and to the Shire of Misty Highlands. On a day such as War Practice, Marshall Prowess ought to be recognized, King Maynard and Queen Liadian had long watched the sword of Baron Vladisla Nikulich, delighting in his prowess at crown tournaments, and holding him close by their side in the melees of war. Their Majesties called for Their Order of the Gage, and the Order confirmed that they would have this man, and so Baron Vladisla was inducted into the Order of the Gage. Their Majesties called THL Ambrosius MacDaibhidh into Their court. They spoke words that the many labors of this gentle man had found favor with them; he had blazed the path as Aethelmearc’s first Media Officer, he served as deputy Pennsic Media officer, his services to the archery community and heavy weapons community span the years, he cooks, teaches, makes armor and hosts workshops and offers crash space in his home. The impressive service given so moved Their Majesties as to bestow the Aethelmearc Award of Excellence upon him, giving him a token of Their esteem.
Their Majesties spoke that Service to the Kingdom was dear to Their hearts and invited Mistress Cassadoria Finialla to join them before the court. Their Majesties announced to the assembled populace that this was her 20th anniversary of being named Lady Protector of the Principality of Aethelmearc prior to the first Coronet tourney was held. Their Majesties invited Mistress Cassadoria’s Apprentices to attend them. The good lady’s apprentices one by one asked those present who had been touched by Mistress Cassadoria’s services or arts to please rise to show their appreciation. The members of the Canton of Steltonwald presented her with 20 roses in honor of the 20 years she has served Aethelmearc, and her Apprentice Lord Bovi Farmadr presented her with a new baronial coronet and laurel wreath. After all these gentles had spoken, Their Majesties too wished to thank Mistress Cassadoria,, and so they bestowed upon her an Augmentation of Arms, Scroll by Lady Sophie Davenport.
Their Majesties called for THL Jenna MacPherson of the Lion’s Tower. They asked if she had contemplated whether she would accept elevation to the Most Noble Order of the Pelican. In reply she removed her own spectacles and donned the rose colored glasses that had been presented her with her writ of summons. Their Majesties then called for the Order of the Pelican to join them, and asked if it was their wish to have this lady; the order replied Aye. His Majesty spoke on behalf of THL Jenna that she had pushed him to serve and helped him better himself. Duchess Rowan de la Garnison and Earl Yngvar the Dismal with Countess Caryl Olesadatter spoke as Royal Peers, Sir Matthias Sean Cameron spoke as a Member of the Chivalry, Sir Aengus MacBain and Mistress Yvianne de Castel d’Avignon spoke as Members of the Order of the Laurel, Mistress Cori Ghora and Sir Sextus Plinius Callidus spoke as Members of the Order of the Pelican and brought words from Viscountess Angharad of the Sleeping Lion. Their Majesties asked if there was a cloak, and Mistress Cori Ghora did bring one forward that Jenna’s lord THL Stephen Calvert deGrey helped lay about her shoulders. Their Majesties asked if there was a hood, and Master Brandric Slaywrock brought forward a hood from Viscountess Angharad of the Sleeping Lion. Their Majesties called for a medallion and Master Geoffrey FitzDavid brought forward the Ancestral Pelican Medallion of Aethelmearc. Their Majesties asked if there was another medallion, and THL John Michael Thorpe presented Jenna with a Pelican medallion that he had crafted for her. Their Majesties had the promissory scroll by Mistress Gillian Llwelyn read into the court and then received Mistress Jenna’s oath of fealty.

Her Majesty thanked all the entrants in the competition to become the next Sylvan Bard, as they had made Their Majesties’ choice very difficult.
Their Majesties called for Count Jehan de la

divested him of the regalia of his position and thanked him for his
service to
Themselves and to the Kingdom. Their
Majesties then announced that the next Sylvan Bards of Aethelmearc
would be
Lord Corwyn ap Nennius and Lady Margarita d’Sienna.
