Brass Ring Thing Demo
Barony of the Rhydderich Hael

Report of the Court of Their Royal Majesties Maynard and Líadain, King and Queen of the Sylvan Kingdom of Aethelmearc, at the Brass Ring Thing Demo held in the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael on the 6th day of June AS 44, His Excellency Caleb Baron of the Rhydderich Hael in attendance, Brandubh Ó Donnghaile, Silver Buccle, reporting herald.
 
On the Equestrian Field.
 
Her Majesty Líadain greeted all the riders who had competed in Their Majesties Equestrian Champions Tourney that day.  She was greatly pleased by the tremendous turnout of Horses and Riders on that magnificent afternoon.
 
Her Majesties called for the King’s Equestrian Champion, Lady Rhiannon filia Catell. Her Majesty thanked her for her service to King and Kingdom and bid her pass the regalia of King’s Equestrian Champion to Viscountess Rannveigr Haakonardottir for she had proven victorious that day and proven her skills upon horseback above all others and presented her with a scroll Limned by Byana de Mendoza and Calligraphed by Yvonne Beaudoin.
 
Her Majesty next invited Her Majesty’s Equestrian Champion, Lady Alexandra Caithnes, to attend her.  Her Majesty had watched all the riders that competed that day and had been most pleased with the courtesy and chivalry of Ragnailt in Eich.  She thanked Lady Alexandra for her service and bid her pass her regalia to Ragnailt, and presented her with a scroll created by Baroness Ekaterina Volkova.
 
Queen Líadian was greatly pleased by the spectacular turnout at that equestrian championship and was moved to name all the horses that had come to compete in the Tournament as Sylvan Steeds of Aethelmearc and presented tokens of Her appreciation to Tiki, Taco, Ernst of Willowview, Jeanne le Grand, Rocky, Killian, Desiree, Theobald the Bold, Shawnee Star, Samwise, Evenstars Midknight Star a.k.a. Sooty, and Zero.
 
Viscount Alexander Caithnes of Wyk did beg a boon of Her Majesty of doing some business in Her court.  Viscount Alexander then asked if Her Majesty would call for Her new Equestrian Champion Ragnailt in Eich.  Viscount Alexander spoke of a special type of squire, that being an Equary, and that this squire would learn from a knight the ways of the horse.  He asked Ragnailt if it was her wish to become his equary, to serve him and learn more of the art of horsemanship, to which she replied yes.  Viscount Alexander then hung a red and gold checky belt from her waist, as the first equaries had been created in the Kingdom of An Tir where all things are checky.
 
At the Thrown Weapons Field.
 
Their Majesties called for THL Augusto Giuseppe da San Donato to attend them.  They noted that news had reached Their ears from the Thrown Weapons General of Aethelmearc, THL Alaxandair Ó Conchobhair that His Lordship Augusto had achieved a thrown weapons average score of 102, and as such Their Majesties deemed it fitting to confirm upon him the rank of Marksman, presenting him with a medallion of his new rank, and a scroll made by the hand of Lady Muirgel ingen Gilla Comgaill.
 
However, Their Majesties were not quite finished with THL Augusto Giuseppe da San Donato and bid him stay.  They spoke that they had also heard of his kind heart and courteous nature always seeing to others comfort, and for this Their Majesties named him a member of the Order of the Cornelian.  Scroll by Zosia Kowalewska.
 
At the A&S Tent.
 
Lord Wilhelm Smydele von Soelinge was called before Their Majesties.  They had witnessed the feats of this man and others had noted too that he works in Kitchens, lifts and carries heavy object as events.  And to his great credit when storms ravaged War Practice several years ago destroying tents he was found in the barn with his grill making hot food and drink for the ever growing number of refugees whose tents had fallen in the storms.  For these kind acts Their Majesties were moved to induct Wilhelm into the Order of the Keystone, scroll by Lady Isolda filia Georgii.
 
Evening Court.
 
Their Majesties gave His Excellency Baron Caleb Reynolds permission to hold a baronial court.
 
Their Majesties invited the Site Liaison Rae Profrock to join them in court.  Their Majesties thanked Rae for inviting the society to be a part of the Brass Ring Thing Demo each year.
 
Their Majesties invited Baron Caleb Reynolds into court to report on the Fencing tournament that had been held that day.  Baron Caleb reported that Don Behrend von Elmendorf had proven victorious in that list.  Don Behrend was presented with a gift by the site Liaison.
 
Sir Sextus Plinius Callidus was invited into Their Majesties court to report on the heavy weapons tournament of the day.  Their Majesties called forward Sir Otto of Westphalia to be recognized as the victor of the day, and was presented a gift by the Rae the Site Liaison.
 
Their Majesties called Lady Muirgel ingen Gilla Comgaill to attend Them and report on the Thrown Weapons tournaments of the day.  She wished to Thank THL Antonio de Luna who assisted her all day at the range and presented the victor of the day’s tourney to be Master Charles of Alden.  Master Charles was presented with a token from the Site Liaison.
 
Their Majesties called forward Their new Equestrian Champions, Viscountess Rannveigr Haakonardottir and Ragnailt in Eich, and presented them to the assembled populace in court, and they were given tokens by the Site Liaison.  They also wished to thank the previous equestrian champions Lady Rhiannon filia Catell and Lady Alexandra Caithnes for their service to the kingdom and for running the tournament and special thanks to Viscount Alexander Caithnes of Wyk for serving as the Equestrian Marshal for the tournament.
 
Their Majesties thanked Rae the Site Liaison once more and presented her with a token.  Rae in turn thanked Their Majesties for coming and all the society’s help in making the demo a success, and gave a special thank you to Lady Morwenna Everdon, the autocrat for the demo.
 
Zosia Kowalewska was called into Their Majesties Court, an they were moved to award her arms for her work in making scrolls for her barony and kingdom as well as serving as scribal minister for the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael.  Scroll by Mistress Gillian Llwelyn.
 
Their Majesties called for Cortina Assandra Katia to appear in Their court.  It was well known in the Hael that Cortina was Skilled in singing and Middle Eastern dance, but others spoke also of arts of cooking and brewing and decorating halls, for these things did Their Majesties award her arms.  Scroll by Lady Gillian McGill de Verona.
 
Their Majesties summoned Tree, or Sean MacNevin as some know him, to enter Their court.  Tree had been a member of the SCA for more than 2 decades, his quiet activity helping at troll, serving in kitchens, On the thrown weapons range as an MIT, and helping with site teardown had moved Their Majesties to award him arms.  Scroll by Lady Fenris McGill.
 
Their Majesties called forward Master William de Montegilt.  They spoke of his kind demeanor and gracious bearing to all whom he met, and so They inducted him into the Order of the Cornelian.  Scroll by Lady Muirgel ingen Gilla Comgaill.
 
Lady Isolda filia Georgii was called before Their Majesties.  Words of her exemplary courtesy had also reached Their ears and so they inducted her into the Order of the Cornelian.  Scroll illuminated by Lady Roxane de St Luc, calligraphed by Yvonne Beaudoin, upon a text by Sir Ogami Akira.
 
Lady Hel the Horrible was created a member of the Order of the Keystone in absentia for her works helping at the hospitality table at Pennsic War, and serving in kitchens, as a retainer, and at troll at events.  Scroll by Lady Mary Elizabeth Clason.
 
Their Majesties called for the presence of Lady Edith Winterton.  They spoke to the lady of her work at troll, serving as cooks guild minister, how she offers assistance whenever needed and even assists the heralds, and how all of these things merit her inclusion in the Order of the Keystone.  Scroll by Lady Mairghread ui Stilbhard uu Coinn.
 
Their Majesties summoned Lord Robert l’Étourdi to attend Them as he had gained some reputation for assisting the scribes.  It had come to Their Majesties attention that he made quill pens and period inks and taught others the art of doing so.  They had also heard that he made bows and fletched arrows, made garb and even brewed mead on occasion.  For all these things did Their Majesties induct Robert into the Order of the Sycamore.  Scroll Limned by Lady Roxane de St Luc, scrivened by Mistress Gillian Llwelyn upon a text by Sir Ogami Akira.
 
Lady Morgana la Coeur was called before Their Majesties.  They spoke of her skills in brewing meads and wines and cordials as well as her skills at creating venetian costumes, and so They inducted her into the Order of the Sycamore.  Scroll limned by Mistress Cori Ghora, scrivened by Lord Robert lÉtourdi.
 
Their Majesties called for Lady Fionnghuala Leasa na Linne.  They spoke to her of her steadfast service to the Barony of the Hael, she had served 13 years as Chatelaine and never missed a demo during that time, and also is instrumental at fund raising by assisting with the pick-a-prize raffles.  This length of service moved Their Majesties to bestow upon her the Aethelmearc Award of Excellence.
 
Their Majesties summoned Lord Pearce Redsmythe from Their guards.  They said that they had been trying to get in touch with him for some time, as the companions of the Order of the Fleur d’Aethelmearc had words for him.  The members of the Order agreed that they would have Pearce be inducted into the order for his skills at metal working and casting, and so Their Majesties made it so.  Scroll limned by THL Coinlean Seanchaidh and scrivened by Mistress Gillian Llwelyn.
 
Their Majesties thanked the populace for attending and helping with the Brass Ring Thing Demo and also to the staff and owners of the Carousel Museum for hosting the Demo and inviting the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael to take part in it.
