Shire of Sylvan Glen

Being the report of the Court of Her Majesty, Elena, Queen of  AEthelmearc.  Court held at the AEthelmearc Academy, October 31st,  A.S. 44 (2009) in Her Shire of Sylvan Glen.  Giulietta da Venezia,  reporting herald, with the assistance of Lady Bera of Tavastland,  called the Blessed.

Earl of Sylvan Glen was awarded arms for his service to the archery community, holding practices at his home and teaching new archers.  Scroll scrivened by Pomestnitsa Marija Kotok and limned by Katherine of Caithness, upon a text by Pomestnitsa Marija Kotok.

Gudney of Sylvan Glen was awarded arms for her many years of service including making clothing for others and designing and painting scrolls.  Scroll by Lady Collette de Paris, upon a text by Lady Collette de Paris and Maitresse Yvianne de Castel d'Avignon.

Katherine of Caithness was awarded arms for her service in limning scrolls, organizing the Shire's participation in the local Christmas parade, and organizing the Shire's silent auction.  Scroll scrivened by Her Excellency, Liadain ni Dheirdre Chaomhanaigh and limned by Her Excellency, Ekaterina Volkova.

Kirsten of the Lea was awarded arms for her service to the equestrian community, including becoming a marshal-in-training.  Scroll scrivened by Her Excellency, Ekaterina Volkova and limned by Her Excellency, Boudicea Ravenhair.

Wolf of Sylvan Glen was awarded arms for his service as the Shire's equestrian marshal, and for his years of service to the equestrian community.  Scroll by Herrin Felicitas Flussmullnerin.

Her Majesty invited Maestra Juliana Delamere, Chancellor of the Academy, to address the Populace.  She thanked everyone for attending the Academy, and recognized all of the dedicated teachers who gave their time in furtherance of others' knowledge.  She wished to recognize one gentle who had given much of his time and talent in support of the Academy and its efforts, whereupon with Her Majesty's consent, she recognized His Excellency, Fridrikr Tomasson av Knusslig Hamn as a Fellow of the Academy.  Scroll by Lady Anlaith ingen Trena.

Isabella of Sylvan Glen was made a Companion of the Keystone for her service as the Shire's Minister of Arts and Sciences, Chancellor of Youth, and limner of numerous scrolls.  Scroll by Pani Zofia Kowalewska.

Rosamund du Grasse was made a Companion of the Keystone for her service in teaching others about Middle Eastern culture, especially drumming.  Scroll by Mistress Cynthia Love of the Tower, upon a text by Her Excellency, AElfra Long.

Sarjun al-Rashid was made a Companion of the Keystone for his generosity in hosting events at his home, and for teaching others about Middle Eastern culture.  Scroll by Hrefna fruthikona Thorgrimsdottir.

Her Majesty wished to recognize the exemplary service above and beyond the call of duty of a member of Her Guard, THLord Alaxandair O'Conchobhair, who escorted Her to a dance class and participated in the activities with Her.  For his bravery, She presented him a belt favor and the token of Her Household, that all might know of his dedication.

Kallista of Sylvan Glen was made a Companion of the Keystone for her service in cooking, sewing, scribal arts, and fostering small children and squirrels.  Scroll by Lady Margaret Stewart Quinn.

Jacques la Rouge was made a Companion of the Keystone for his fashioning of rapier scabbards and over one hundred scrolls, and for his service at events.  Scroll by Pomestnitsa Marija Kotok.

Her Majesty invited Lady Hrefna Ulfvarinnsdottir to distribute gifts to the children present, much to their delight.

Andreas Morgan was made a Companion of the Golden Alce for his prowess in heavy weapons combat and for his service as a marshal and cook.  Her Majesty noted that Andreas had represented the Shire most excellently as its first representative to compete in Crown Tournament, and expressed Her wish to see him compete again.  Scroll limned by Boi of Sylvan Glen (age 8) and scrivened by an unknown artist.

Seamus MacAuslan was given Her Majesty's Award of Excellence in recognition of his many years of service to the archery community, teaching many new archers, and particularly for his service as the Shire's archery marshal.

The children of the Shire presented a hand-painted banner to Her Majesty.  Her Majesty thanked them for their generous gift, expressed Her delight in their talents, and assured them that She would display the banner at future events for all to see.

Members of the Shire paid the remedial taxes due in reparation for their invocation of certain bovine beasts in the form of two gift baskets containing many creative and useful items.

Mistress Alicia Langland noted that she had held a class in illumination for children that day, and asked the children who had participated to display their work.  Everyone present was much impressed with their creations, and Her Majesty commended them for their accomplishments.
