The Report of the Court of Their Royal Majesties, Malcolm and Tessa, King and Queen of Aethelmearc, held on the 10th Day of April A.S. 44 at Aethelmearc Coronation in the Shire of Misty Highlands, Their Royal Highnesses, Radagaisus and Ceinwen, Prince and Princess of the Middle Kingdom and the assembled Landed Nobility of Aethelmearc in attendance, THLord Brandubh Ó Donnghaile, Silver Buccle, with the assistance of THLord Cadell Blaidd du.

Morning Court.

King Malcolm called for his Consort Princess Tessa the Huntress to join Him in court and crowned her Queen of Aethelmearc.  Their Majesties, accompanied by Count Jehan de la Marche holding the sword of state walked into the audience to stand amongst the populace.  Malcolm and Tessa then clasped hands about the sword of state and swore Their Oath of Service to the people of the Kingdom of Aethelmearc.  The Lineage of the Throne of Aethelmearc was then read.

Their Majesties invited Their Daughter Katherine the Huntress to join Them and take a seat next to Their Thrones as the Princess Royale who would lead the youth of the kingdom in a quest for knowledge and learning.

Their Majesties called forth the Great Officers of State of the Kingdom of Aethelmearc, and renewed their oaths of service to the Kingdom.

The Landed Nobles of the Baronies were called forward and oaths were taken from Their Excellencies of Thescorre, Delftwood, The Endless Hills, and St Swithins Bog.

Their Majesties renewed the Oaths of Service to the Kingdom of Aethelmearc of he members of the Peerage Orders of the Chivalry, Laurel and Pelican and of the Royal Peers.

Their Majesties then Invited Their Royal Cousins, Radagaisus and Ceinwen, Prince and Princess of the Middle kingdom to join Them in Their Court.

Comte Henri d’Artois was invited into the court.  Their Majesties then recognized his Ducal status and presented him with his coronet adorned with strawberry leaves.  Scroll in progress limned by THLady Roana d’Erveux upon a text by Lady Elena d’Artois le Tailleur.

Their Majesties then invited Lady Elena d’Artois to attend Them, and allowed Duc Henri d’Artois to rest a county coronet upon her head and present her as Comtesse Elena d’Artois as Their Majesties Granted her a Patent of Arms.  Scroll limned by Lady Rota Egilsdottir, calligraphed by Lord Bjorn Bunhaus Olafsson upon words by Lord Po Silvertop, THLord Cadell Blaidd du and THLord Brandubh O’Donnghaile.

The Ladies of the Order of the Rose and the Order of the Garnet present were invited to join Their Majesties. The Ladies of the orders welcomed Comtesse Elena into the Order of the Rose and presented her with the ancestral Rose Cloak to wear until she next welcomes a new member into the Order of the Rose.

Their Majesties called forth THLady Anna Eisenkopf and THLord Gareth Kincaid and invested them as the co-captains of Her Majesty’s Guard and charged them to go forth and find worthy warriors to serve on the Guard.

Their Majesties thanked all for joining Them in this celebration of the Kingdom of Aethelmearc, and his Majesty held his cup aloft that all might see that within the cup’s bottom lays an escarbuncle, so with every sip he sees that emblem and is reminded of what he serves.

Evening Court

Their Majesties invited Their Highnesses, Radagaisus and Ceinwen, Prince and Princess of the Middle Kingdom to join Them in court.

Lord Cinnion map Liuelin map Hiugel and Lady Catriona ingen ui Bhraonain were called forth.  Lord Cinnion spoke of gifts, and that the Ladies of his household had been extremely busy.  They presented a box of award medallions to Their Majesties and necklaces to Her Majesty and the Princess Royale.

Baron Kire MacUrsus was invited forward to swear his fealty to Their majesties and the Kingdom of Aethelmearc for the Barony of Blackstone Mountain.

The Captains of Her Majesties Guard, THLady Anna Eisenkopf and THLord Gareth Kincaid were called forth. Their Majesties questioned them if they had completed the task of forming a guard to protect the safety of Her Majesty’s person. They then called forth Lord Faiol Mac Geroit, Lord Teagan O’Shaehan, Lord Wulfstan of Sarum, Lord Ragnar Gunnolfsson, Lord Captain Terrance Merritt McClay, Lady Rosalinda of Castille, and THLord Brad Boda d’Aylward.  His Majesty then took an oath from the assembly and charged them with the safety of His Queen.  Their Majesties then armed the members of the guard and bid them take their posts in Their court.

Their Majesties invited Baron Byron of Haverford to enter Their Court and with Baroness Ariella of Thornbury to swear fealty for the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands.  Byron and Ariella in turn presented a gift basket to Their Majesties complete with cookies from their daughter to the Princess Royale.

Mistress Jenna MacPherson was invited forward to speak of the Youth Championship Tournament which was held that afternoon.  Mistress Jenna wished to thank THLady Maria Christina de Cordoba who had served as Mistress of the Lists for the Tournament, Lord Jorundr hinn Rotinn who had heralded the lists, and Lady Zoe Akropolitina who had assisted as marshal.  Their Majesties had agreed that whoever won the tournament would be Their Youth Champion and as such the winner was Lord Roland of Willowbrook.

Mistress Jenna further announced that the raffles to benefit the youth fighters had raised $164, and presented this to Their Majesties.

The Princess Royale, Kathryn, had overseen the Arts and Sciences Display that day, announced that she had chosen THLady Myfanwy ferch Rhiannon as her favorite artist in the display for her Viking wire weaving and draw pipe, as the Princess Royale is very interested in learning and trying new arts.  Kathryn presented Myfanwy with a token in thanks for her entry.

Their Majesties called upon Count Jehan de la Marche to attend Them.  They recognized that this was a very auspicious time for His Excellency.  In a conversation earlier in the day Count Jehan had mentioned that this was his 40th anniversary of beginning heavy weapons combat, and that he had fought with the armies of Aethelmearc for the past 20 years.

The Autocrats of the Event, Master Valgardr Gunnarsson and Mistress Juliana Delemare, asked the populous to please clean the tables in the main hall so that it could be set up for feast.

Their Majesties thanked Master Valgardr and Mistress Juliana for all their labors in producing the event, and praised the team that they had assembled to make the event a success.  This was a wonderful day for Aethelmearc, for Their Parents, Duc Henri and Comtesse Elena, Guests and all who could attend.  Their Majesties further thanked the Debatable Choir and its guest performers for providing music for all the courts that day.
