Crown Tournament
Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands
The Report of the court of Their Sylvan Majesties, Malcolm and Tessa,
King and Queen of Aethelmearc held at the Crown Tournament held in the
Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands on the 8th day of May Anno
Societatis xxxxv, Their Royal Highnesses, Duncan and Ilish, Prince and
Princess of Aethelmearc, and Their Excellencies, Byron and Ariella,
Baron and Baroness of the Debatable lands in attendance, THLord
Brandubh Ó Donnghaile, Silver Buccle.
Court on the Tournament Field.
Their majesties called forward Count Duncan von Halstern and Countess
Ilish O’Donovan. Upon his victory in the tournament Their
Majesties crowned him Prince of Aethelmearc, and allowed him to crown
his Lady Ilish as Princess and presented the Pair as the 27th heirs to
the throne of the Sylvan Kingdom of Aethelmearc.
Their Majesties called forward Baron Thomas Byron of Haverford and
Baroness Ariella of Thornbury, and congratulated Byron on his valiant
performance in providing a challenge to Prince Duncan in the finals of
the Tournament.
Evening Court.
Their Majesties called Lord Eirikr inn Havi forward and congratulated
him on fine performance in the tournament list that day, and that They
would extend to him an invitation to join Her Majesty’s Guard.
Lord Eirikr swore an oath to serve and protect Her Majesty, and was
armed and took his place in the Guard.
The Ladies of the Order of the Rose and Garnet were invited forward to
discuss the tournament. They had watched intently the happenings
in the list that day and had determined one form the combatants who had
shone as an example of Courtesy and Chivalry. They bid Baron
Stevan Ulfkellson to come forward as he currently held the shield of
Chivalry, and the Ladies bid Lord Eirikr inn Havi to come and take up
the Shield as his demeanor on the list had shone.
Their Majesties called Sarah of Rivers Edge to attend Them. They
inducted her into the Order of the Silver Buccle for her long hours of
selfless service given sitting troll at events, water bearing on the
battlefields and assisting the fighters. Scroll by the hands of

Lucianno.
THLord Urho Waltterinen was invited into the Court and he begged a boon
to conduct some personal business. Robert of the Debatable Lands
was called forward. Urho explained that as a member of the Order of the
Scarlet Guard it was his privilege to be able to take Archer Students
and have them bear the token of a red archers tassel. Robert had
demonstrated a desire to learn more of the art and service of archery,
and so Urho took him as his student.
Their Majesties Announced that per Kingdom Law the term of office of
the Kingdom Webminister had expired, and that Their Majesties had
granted a second term to THLord Iain Ard mac an Bhaird.
Their Majesties further announced that the term office of Silver Buccle
Herald was due to expire at this event, but that They planned to
address this issue at Their Curia to reflect current practice of the
Office of Silver Buccle Herald’s term expiring at Crown Tournament on
the odd years.
Batu Chinua was Awarded Arms for her Mongolian research, willingness to
hold Arts and Sciences evenings in her home and working at events as

Their Majesties called Lord Robert Rose of Inverness and inducted him
into the Order of the Golden Alce for his proficiency and drive to
better himself on the heavy weapons field. Scroll by Lady Sophie

Lady Chi An Ling was called forward and created a companion of the
Order of the Keystone for her long service as Ministress of the List,
Exchequer, event set up and clean up, and assisting in many kitchens

Their Majesties addressed the populace that this had been a glorious
day for Aethelmearc, the Kingdom has heirs. Much glory and honor
had been displayed on the tournament list. In the future comes
War Practice, and Their Majesties invited the populace to join Them
there to defend the borders of Aethelmearc in preparation for the Great
Pennsic War. Their Majesties had been greatly pleased by the day,
as the gallery of the populace had been as involved in the tournament
as the combatants themselves, and They thanked the Heralds, Bards,
Marshals, Ministress of the Lists, List Runners, Cooks and all the
event staff who had assisted in the events of the day.
