The Report of he Court of Their Majesties, Malcolm and Tessa, King and
Queen of Aethelmearc held on the 15th day of May, a.s. xlv at Will’s
Revenge in the Shire of Abhainn Chiach Ghlais, THLord Brandubh Ó
Donnghaile, Silver Buccle.
Their Majesties invited Master Dennis of Greenway to attend Them.
Master Dennis had recently sojourned to England and wished to present
tokens from that land, as well as a piece of the land.
Lord Wladyslaw Poznanski was invited into court and presented a gift to
Their Majesties. He spoke further as he had run an archery
range to Save the King’s Hares, where the archers competed to defend
the hares from various predators and poachers. After all scores
were tallied, Master Gille MacDhonuill was found to have best defended
His Majesty’s beloved hares. Lord Wladyslaw presented Master
Gille with his prize and His Majesty bestowed upon him the title of
Defender of the Hares.
Their Majesties called THLord Fintan na Coilled forth as he had stood
in the place of Baron Batar Sogdo the King’s Archery Champion and
conducted a tournament to determine the new King’s Champion.
Master Gille MacDhonuill had run the qualifier tournament as a roving
range and selected 6 finalists to compete. In the final round
Lord Charles of Verona stood alone as the victor and so Fintan invested
him with the regalia of the King’s Archery Champion and Their Majesties
invited him to join Their Court.
THLord Brada Aethelward asked a moment of time to recognize the
achievements of the local archers. He presented Lord Andreas
Jager von Holstein with the badge of a Master Bowman. Lady Aine
ingen ui Aengusa, Lady Ariel of Greenwich, and Master Egill the Dane
with badges as they had all achieved the rank of Marksman. Lady
Elyes la Bref was presented with an Archer badge.
Their Majesties Awarded Arms to Conrad Kienast for his developing
skills at weaving, story telling, and wire weaving, as well as his
helpfulness in kitchens and washing dishes. Scroll Limned by the
two Turnbulls, scrivened by Dame George Anne, upon a text by His
Majesty.
Lord Andreas Jager von Holstein was called forward. Their
Majesties had heard many tidings of the labors of this man as Captain
of Archers for the Shire of Abhainn Chiach Ghlais, as Hospitaller, and
the services that he has provided to events in the shire. After
such reports They were moved to create him a companion of the Order of
the Keystone. Scroll limned by the Two Turnbulls, calligraphy by

Master Gille MacDhonuill begged a moment of time in Their Majesties’
Court. He explained to Their Majesties that he had an apprentice,
but that he could no longer teach him anything, and that the endeavor
to find new things to teach his apprentice was proving quite taxing
upon him. In fact this apprentice cooked more feasts than Master
Gille and taught more classes as well, and begged that Their Majesties’
intercede for him. Their Majesties called forward this
apprentice, THLord Victor of Shrewsbury and spoke to him that they had
heard of his cooking and research into the humors of food and other
culinary endeavors. Their Majesties suggested that if one man was
no longer able to instruct him, then perhaps the entire Order of the
Laurel was required to help him take the next step. Their
Majesties invited the Companions of the Order of the Laurel to attend
and delivered a writ unto THLord Victor to attend Them at Aecademy,
where he will sit vigil and receive what instruction may be given as he
contemplates elevation into the Order of the Laurel. Writ an
unfinished piece of art by Mistress Alienora Russeal, Victor’s late
wife, scrivened by Mistress Alicia Langland.
Their Majesties thanked the people of Abhainn Chaich Ghlais for hosting
this event, as they had enjoyed a beautiful day taking turns shooting
and throwing in this the heart of the kingdom.
Court Closed.
