Barony of St Swithins Bog


The Report of the Court of Their Majesties Malcolm and Tessa, King and Queen of Aethelmearc held at the St Swithins Bog Investiture in the Barony of St Swithins Bog on the 17th day of July anno societatus 45, Their Excellencies Quinn and Vivienne, 3rd Baron and baroness of St Swithins Bog, and Caoinlean and Cynthia, 4th Baron and Baroness of St Swithins Bog in attendance, THLord Brandubh Ó Donnghaile, Silver Buccle.

Afternoon Court.

Their Excellencies Quinn and Vivienne asked permission to conduct some final business.

Their Excellencies thanked those who had supported them throughout their reign as Baron and Baroness of St Swithins Bog and presented tokens of thanks.

They then inducted Lady Brynn Kerr into the Special of St Swithins for Service and presented her with a scroll by Lady Kathryn de Lyon de Savoie with words by Baroness Vivienne Marie de Beauvais.

Their Excellencies continued to thank those gentles who had rendered special and personal service to them during their time on the thrones of the barony and present them with tokens of thanks.

Their Excellencies then dismissed the captain of their Guard Don Lodowick of Grays Inn  and Their Herald Lady Caitilin ni Mhaolchonaire.

Their Majesties thanked Their Excellencies, Quinn and Vivienne, for their excellent service as the wardens of the Barony of St Swithins Bog.  They had given so much life and energy to the barony, and had truly impressed Their Majesties by the leadership, guidance and fun that they had and inspired in others in St Swithins Bog.  But Their Majesties now had the task of enforcing the rules of the barony and the kingdom, and asked Their Excellencies if they were prepared to step down from their posts as territorial Baron and Baroness of the Barony of St Swithins Bog.  They both declared that they were ready to make way for their heirs, and so Their Majesties divested them of the coronets of the Barony, released them from their oaths of fealty and thanked them for their 6 years of service to the Barony and Kingdom.

Their Majesties then summoned Mistress Aelfra Long, the Baronial Seneschale.  Mistress Aelfra verified that there had been a polling of the populace in accordance with Kingdom Law and Baronial Policy, and that this polling had produced heirs.

Their Majesties called for these heirs THLord Caoinlean Seanchaidh and Mistress Cynthia Beloved of Tower.  They questioned them if they were ready to take on the  burden of the their people to represent the Crown of the Kingdom to their People and to represent the will of their people to the Crown.  Upon their assent, Their Majesties received their oath of service and fealty and invested them as the 4th Baron and Baroness of St Swithins Bog and invited them to sit and join Them in Their court.

Master Quinn Kerr and Mistress Vivienne Marie de Beauvais were recalled into Their Majesties presence.  Their Majesties spoke that they would not diminish the station of tow such valued leaders of Their lands, and so created them a Baron and Baroness of Their court.  Scrolls by THLady Marija Kotok.

Their Excellencies Caoinlean and Cynthia begged Their Majesties leave to conduct a few items of business and welcomed all present to their Court.

They thanked Mistress Charmaine of Falkensee for her aid in producing the garb that they wore.

They asked Don Lodowick of Grays Inn to surrender the regalia of the Captain of the baronial guard and invested Guillaume le Noir as their new captain of the guard.

Their Excellencies invited the Baronial Champions to continue in their posts until such time as they hold tournaments to select their successors.

Baroness Vivienne Marie de Beauvais presented Their Excellencies with the reliquary of St Swithin.

Their Excellencies then presented a gift basket to Their Majesties for Their Royal pup.

Their Excellencies inducted Lord Gareth Craig into the Order of St Swithins for Arts and Sciences.  Scroll by Lady Rachel Dalicieux.

Baron Quinn Kerr and Baroness Vivienne Marie de Beauvais were called before Their Excellencies.  They presented Vivienne with a handmade Pelican statue in thanks, and inducted Quinn into the Special Order of St Swithins for service.

Their Excellencies then distributed Bling to the populace.

Evening Court.

Their Majesties called Guillaume le Noir to attend Them.  They had heard of his prowess upon he heavy weapons field, and witnessed his skills on the field of combat that day, and expected to see more of him in his new post as the captain of the baronial guard.   So to mark him as a dangerous man, Their Majesties inducted him into the Order of the Golden Alce.  Scroll by Lady Vivienne of Yardley.

Lord Lucius Gothicus was inducted into the Order of the Golden Alce for his prowess upon the heavy weapons field and serving on the Queen’s Guard and study of Roman battle tactics while serving in House Sable Maul on the Melee Field.  Scroll by Lady Mary Elizabeth Clason.

Their Majesties called Lord Teaghan O’Shaehan and inducted him into the Order of the Golden Alce for his many years of fighting in House Sable Maul and fighting in the Queen’s Guard.  Scroll limned by THLady Hrefna Ulfvarinnsdottir and scrivened by Sarah Tuttle.

Lady Caitilin ni Mhaolchonaire was summoned from behind Their Excellencies.  Their Majesties thanked her for serving Quinn and Vivienne for serving them their entire tenure as the herald for their courts, as They knew how valuable a good herald was.  Their Majesties spoke that they had heard that she served her Barony and Canton in yet more ways, and so They Inducted her into the Order of he Millrind.  Scroll by Lady Sophie Davenport, words by Master Michael Alewright.

Their Majesties summoned Lady Brynn Kerr to attend Them.  They praised her art with thread and needle, as she was always so well dressed, and others around her had been clothed by her hand.  Their Majesties called for the Order of the Fleur d’Aethelmearc to attend as this lady’s sewing had attracted their attentions, and bid her enter their number as a companion of the Order of the Fleur.  Scroll by Dona Sasha Grey.

Their Majesties commented that on the is day they had seen the passing of a good Baron and Baroness and the investiture of a new couple, and Their Majesties wished Caoinlean and Cynthia well in their new role.  They Thanked the Barony of St Swithins Bog for the day, and invited all to enjoy the feast and eat cake.
