Shire
of Hunter’s Home
Report
of the Court of Their Royal Majesties Malcolm and Tessa, King and Queen
of
Aethelmearc, at the occasion of the Coronation of Their Heirs Duncan
and Ilish,
Prince and Princess of Aethelmearc held on the 18th day of
September
anno societatis xxxxv in the Shire of Hunter’s Home, with the assembled
Landed
Nobility of Aethelmearc in attendance, THLord Brandubh Ó
Donnghaile, Silver
Buccle with the assistance of THLord Cadell Blaidd du and THLady Sophie
Davenport.
Their
Majesties invited THLord Augusto Giuseppe da San Donato to come forward. Giuseppe explained that today the Kingdom
would start a new tradition, the Members of the White Scarf call their
fencing
students cadets, and mark them with a blue scarf. The
members of the Scarlet Guard take students
for archery and give them a tassel to wear.
So today the Order of the White Horn would begin to take
students and these
students will be called bejants. The
token each bejant would display would be a black horn.
Their Majesties then invited THLady Tora
Shida no Gozen and Lady Rhiannon filia Catell to attend as well. Her Ladyship Gozen then asked lady Rhiannon
if she would be willing to learn what she had to teach of the art of
the horse. Lady Rhiannon accepted and
Gozen presented
her with a black horn inscribed with both their names, and created Lady
Rhainnon the first bejant of Aethelmearc.
Mistress
Aleea Baga then came forward and presented nine hundred fifty dollars
to Their
Majesties that had been raised through Tshirt sales to finance the
creation of
new heirs thrones for the Kingdom.
Their
Majesties summoned Lord Tigernach mc Cathail forth from Their retinue
and
recognized him as the newest Marksman of Thrown Weapons in Aethelmearc
as he
had attained a Thrown Weapons Royal Round Average of 101.33. Scroll limned by THLady Marija Kotok,

Lord
TIgernach mac Cathail was bid to stay a moment longer as Their
Majesties
bestowed the Sigil of Aethelmearc to him and Countess Alexandra of Clan
Donald,
Lady Caitriona inghean ui Bhraonain, Mistress Ts’vee’a bas Tseepora
Levi,
Mistress Euriol of Lothian, THLord Brada Aethelward, Master
Skalla-Valgardr
Gunnarsson, Lady Gabriella Pietrosanti, THLady Gytha Oggesdohtor,
THLord Iain
Ard mac an Bhaird, and THLady Ariadne Flaxenhair for the services that
they had
rendered large and small to Their Majesties throughout Their reign.
Their
Majesties called for Lord Cinnion map Liuelin map Higuel and spoke
words that
They had seen him helping through much of Their Reign and for many
years before
that, often offering to help before anyone can ask.
Yet his service goes further and deeper to
the heralds assisting with he operations of the OSCAR system for
submissions. For all of this Their
Majesties
were moved to induct him into the Order of the Keystone.

Lord
Kyndylan was inducted into the Order of the Golden Alce in absentia for
his
skills with heavy weapons as Their Majesties had been very pleased with
his
valiant fighting at Pennsic. Scroll by

THLord
Deryk the Archer was inducted into the Order of he Keystone in absentia
for
running fun archery shoots and ending up in the kitchen afterwards
washing
dishes. He served on several Queens’
Guards, and freely shares his brew with all.

Their
Majesties invited Mistress Elisabeth Johanna von Flossenburg to attend
Them. They spoke of her skills with garb
and how many members of the royalty that she had clothed, and indeed
how many
of the populace had benefitted from her expertise with cloth. His Majesty spoke that upon recently going
through his portfolio he found one of the first scrolls he had
completed after
moving to the Kingdom of Aethelmearc which was a Keystone for Elisabeth
for
giving freely of her talents with garb to so many.
At this time Their Majesties could find only
one way to mark Mistress Elisabeth as she had marked others, and that
was with
an Augmentation of Arms. Scroll

Sir
Tristen Sexwulf was called forth and granted the Aethelmearc Award of
Excellence for his service to the Marshallate, revising the marshals’
webpage
and shaking up the marshallate of the kingdom.
Their
Majesties inducted Master Donnan the Solitary into the Order of the
Golden
Stirrup in absentia for his pursuit of fencing in German waffenrock and
cabasset helm while fighting with German long sword and freely sharing
his
research and experience with all. Scroll

Comtesse
Elena d’Artois le Tailleur was granted the Aethelmearc Award of
Excellence in
absentia for her grace and skill at handling every situation well,
rising to
every challenge.
Their
Majesties called for THLord Gareth Kincaid to attend Them and bestowed
him with
the Aethelmearc Award of Excellence for serving as a captain of Her
Majesty’s
Guard, but more so bringing his household to serve, and taking charge
of he set
up and tear down of the pavilions at Pennsic and the loading of the
trailer for
he Kingdom properties.
Their
Majesties then called forth Their Heir, Prince Duncan von Halstern. His Highness’s Herald, Master Michael McPhe
came forth and spoke of His Highness’s long travels, but asked what
welcome
would He receive when He enters Their Majesties’ Hall?
Their Majesties replied that Their Son would
be welcomed in Their Hall as they did expect his arrival very soon, and
sent
His Highness’s Herald to carry these words back to His Highness.
Lady
Isolda filia Georgii was called forth and praised for her efforts to
support
the arts. Their Majesties understood
that Isolda served as a scribe, a retainer, Mistress of Arts and
Sciences for
the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael and for Region 4.
But she also cooks, hosts meetings in her
home, serves as a herald and organizing efforts for the anno societatis
50
challenge. Their Majesties noted that
others had heard of her service and would have words with her as well,
and so
Their Majesties inducted her into the Order of the Millrind. Scroll by Mistress Cori Ghora.
Mistress
Juliana Delamare was called forth and thanked for her service during
the
reign. Her Majesty then pulled a coronet
from the bag that Mistress Juliana had been carrying and placed it upon
her
head, as They created her a Baroness of Their Court.
Their Majesties explained that the coronet
had been made by His Majesty’s hand and that it did contain his blood
for his

Their
Majesties then invited Viscount Bear the Wallsbane and Viscountess
Judith of
Kirtland to attend Them. Their Majesties
thanked Judith for her service as the 28th Jewel of
Aethelmearc that
she had spent her time as Jewel taking care of the thrones and the
kingdom in
both cases fixing that which was broken.
Their Majesties then turned to Bear and thanked him for his
candid discussions
on what is right. These conversations
did not focus on what is right for the king, nor what is right for
Bear, but
what is right for the kingdom. Their
Majesties spoke that Bear and Judith had created the Order of he Jewel
of
Aethelmearc as Prince and Princess to honor those in whom Aethelmearc
shone
through, and on this day Their Majesties saw Aethelmearc in Syr Bear
and named
him 29th Jewel of Aethelmearc.

Their
Majesties Invited Duchess Dorinda Courtenay and Duchess Meirwen uerch
Owein to
that hem both for all their words of advice, counsel and temperance
throughout
the reign.
Count
Jehan de la Marche was invited forward to speak for the people of
Aethelmearc
and Baroness Alexandra dei Campagnella was invited to speak as the
representative of the Kingdom. They
spoke that His Highness Duncan had arrived and was prepared to claim
the
throne.
Baroness
Alexandra,dei Campagnella, as the representative of the Seneschal’s
Office,
spoke that the rule of law had been followed in the Crown Tournament. Sir Tristen Sexwulf spoke as the Earl Marshal
and verified the tourney and the results that day.
His Lordship Brandubh O’Donnghaile spoke as
the Silver Buccle Herald that he had indeed presented His Highness
Duncan as
the victor on the day of Spring Crown Tourney.
Their
Majesties upon hearing this advice, called Their retainers to Them and
released
them from service and bid them enjoy the rest of the day.
They then called for Her Majesty’s Chivalry
Advisor, Sir Graedwynn mab Teyrnon and Her Majesty’s Guard and released
them
from service. They next called The
Landed Barons and Baronesses present to attend and released them from
Their
Court. His Majesty then turned to Her
Majesty and thanked her for giving him the honor of being His Queen,
but now
Their time on the throne had come to an end, and so he released her
from her
oath to the kingdom and removed the crown from her head and bid the
remaining
guards, and her Majesty’s protégés to escort Her Majesty
and Princess Katherine
out.
His
Majesty then called for His Heir, Prince Duncan to come forth. When His Highness reached the dais he turned
to the audience and the cloak of the Heir was removed and he was
clothed with
the cloak of the King. The champion then
brought the Sword of Sate to His Highness and representatives of the
Orders of
the Pelican, the Laurel, the Chivalry and the Royal Peers each in turn
came
forward and asked if He would support their endeavors and listen to
their
counsel, after He swore to do so for each they endorsed His claim to
the
throne, and the Champion reclaimed the Sword of Sate.
His Majesty Malcolm then stepped forward and
spoke to His Highness that he had made a claim to the throne, and had
been
supported by witnesses and now stood before Him wearing the garb of the
King. His Majesty Malcolm then removed
His tabard and the crown and placed the crown upon Duncan’s head and
bowed to
Him as King.
