Coronation
Shire
of Hunter’s Home
Report
of the Court of Their Royal Majesties Duncan and Ilish, King and Queen
of
Aethelmearc, at Their Coronation on the 18th day of
September anno
societatis xxxxv in the Shire of Hunter’s Home, with the assembled
Landed
Nobility of Aethelmearc in attendance, THLord Brandubh Ó
Donnghaile, Silver
Buccle, with the assistance of THLord Cadell Blaidd du.
His
Majesty Duncan then called for Her Highness Ilish O’Donovan to join him
as it
was Her inspiration that allowed him to become King and He would have
her stand
by His side as Queen. Princess Ilish
came forth escorted by Her Guard and the Order of the White Scarf. When she reached the dais, she turned to the
audience and the Heir’s Cloak was replaced by the Royal Cloak. The Champion brought forth the Sword of State
to Her Highness Ilish, and representatives of the Ladies of the Garnet,
Ladies
of the Rose and the Royal Peers each came forward and asked if she
would represent
their ideals to the kingdom. After she swore to each that she would
uphold
their ideals they endorsed her as Queen.
The Champion then collected the Sword of State, and His Majesty
Duncan
stepped forward and crowned Her Queen.
Count
Jehan de la Marche then came forward as the representative of the
populace of
the Kingdom. The Champion brought forth the Sword of State and Their
Majesties
swore Their Oath of Service to the Kingdom.
Count Jehan then presented His Majesty Duncan with a Scepter and
an orb
to represent his rule over the land and presented Her Majesty Ilish
with a
scepter to symbolize Her rule. The
Lineage of the thrones of Aethelmearc was read and Their Majesties were
presented as 27th Sovereigns of the Sylvan Kingdom of
Aethelmearc.
Their
Majesties Duncan and Ilish thanked Their Graces Malcolm and Tessa for
their
fine stewardship of the kingdom during their reign as king and queen of
Aethelmearc.
Their
Majesties then called for the Princesses Elizabeth and Isabell to join
Them and
take their seats upon the dais next to their parents.
The
Great Officers of State were then summoned and they swore to continue
their
service to the Kingdom. Their Majesties
thanked them for their support.
The
Landed Nobility of the Baronies of Delftwood, Blackstone Mountain and
Saint
Swithins Bog all renewed their oaths of fealty for their lands. Their majesties thanked them and swore to
defend their peoples.
Their
Majesties called upon the Members of the Orders of the Chivalry, the
Laurel,
and the Pelican and the Royal Peers of Aethelmearc to renew their oaths
of
service to the kingdom.
Baron
Stevan Ulfkellson was called forward.
His Majesty reminded him of conversations that they had held and
asked
if it was still Baron Stevan’s intent to join the royal retinue. Stevan was then invested as the Chancellor of
the Privy Seal for the reign to Serve as the King’s right hand man.
Their
Majesties called for Lord Eirikr inn havi and Lady Katherine Vivans to
attend
Them. They asked if it was still their
intent
to serve Their Majesties. His Majesty then charged them with the safety
of His
Queen and Their two Princesses. They
were then invested as the Captains of the Queen’s Guard.
Their Majesties then called for Her Majesty’s
Guard and the Captains sent them to their posts in the hall.
Sir
Alric of the Mists was invited forward and invested as Chivalry Advisor
to the
Crown.
Their
Majesties invited the populace to seek Them out that afternoon for
individual
audiences as They seat in State.
Evening
Court.
Their
Majesties called forth Mistress Jenna MacPherson the Youth Marshal of
the day
and called Lord Rouland of Willowbrooke the Youth Champion, and thanked
him for
his service to the Kingdom over the last six months.
Their Majesties then called forward Aaron the
Swift and Robert of the Debatable Lands.
Their Majesties spoke that as there were multiple divisions of
youth
fighters, the kingdom must have multiple champions so that all
challenges can
be met in their appropriate divisions, and so named Aaron and Robert
Youth
Champions of the Kingdom and invested them with the regalia of their
new
positions. Mistress Jenna further called
Lord Rouland of Willowbrooke and Ingvar to come forward and
congratulated them
on their prowess displayed in the tourney held that day.
The
Sylvan Bards Master Michael McPhe and Lady Dearbhforgaill an Chomhaidh. Their majesties thanked them for their
service to the kingdom at Pennsic, leading the armies of Aethelmearc in
song
upon the field. Their Majesties had
presided over the competition for Sylvan Bard that afternoon and both
They and
the Princesses had chosen one clear winner.
Their Majesties called for Count Jehan de la Marche to come
forward and
invested him as Their Sylvan Bard.
Their
Majesties had also presided over the Arts and Sciences display. They called for Their Arts and Sciences
Champions Dona Sasha Grey and Baroness Betha of Bedford and thanked
them for
their contributions to the largess coffers of the kingdom.
Their Majesties had been impressed by many
entries but the Princesses had shown distinct interest in the Period
Viking
games made by Lady Thyri erbewyf and so They invested her with the
regalia of
the Arts and Sciences Champion of the Kingdom.
Their
Majesties invited THora the Destroyer to come forward and sing a song,
as she
had greatly impressed Them at the Bardic Champion competition. They thanked her, but called her closer to
attend Them Further and praised her efforts in entering ice dragon 5
times, as
she was only now 8 years old, she weaves with tablets, sticks and
looms, and
even teaches classes at Pennsic on felt balls.
Their Majesties were so moved by her myriad of accomplishments
that They
inducted her into the Order of the Silver Sycamore.

of Lothbroke was summoned and Awarded Arms for his service at events,
forging
knives and teaching the arts of the blacksmith, setting up camps at
Pennsic, an
serving on Her majesty’s Guard as a heavy fighter.

Their
Majesties called for Jenny of Hunter’s Home and praised her efforts on
behalf
of her shire. They spoke that sometimes
allowing others to serve is itself a great service, as she did
transport Master
Kyriel Hawkmoon to events and meetings, but along the past ten years
she had
also held the office of webminister, assisted at shire events and
learned the
art of woodworking. For all of this
Their Majesties Awarded her Arms. Scroll

Their
Majesties had heard that many of the shire members had been hard at
work for
this day and called forth Sloane Areson who had been busy running all
day long
to insure the smooth progress of the event.
They praised him further for his years of service to the shire,
and his
brewing. His hospitality was well known
as he greeted visitors to the Shire’s Pennsic Camp with libations, and
so They

Ursala
of Rouen was called forth and Awarded Arms for her service as a
retainer. She has autocrated events, and
sews her own
Norse garb, she gives from her heart without the thought of getting
anything

Lady
Inez of Alegria was called inducted into the Order of the Sycamore for
her
support of the arts. She had served as first Mistress of the Arts and
Sciences
for the Shire of Hunter’s Home, and had served as a cook for decades,
and
currently served as the editor of the shires’ quarterly Arts and
Sciences

Their
Majesties invited Master Kyriel Hawkmoon to attend Them.
They praised his efforts for the Shire as he
had served as seneschal for 18 years, and frequently hosted shire
meetings in
his own house and coordinated handicap services at Pennsic, and was
always
available with a kind smile and a warm heart.

Mistress
Constance Waite was called into the court as Their Majesties were at a
quandary. They had seen so much from
Constance that she had always been available to serve her shire and the
kingdom. She was always there asking,
what can I do, which comes from her warm heart.
Their Majesties had begun to ask Themselves what could They do
for her
and were so moved to create her a Baroness of the Court.
Their Majesties called for a coronet and Her
Ladyship Sabina of Kilkenney brought one forth to be placed upon
Baroness

Majesties then thanked everyone for coming and sharing the day with
Them, and
helping to make the event a success.
Their Majesties remarked that They looked forward to seeing
