Herein, our commentary on letter ILoI AE100, dated November 1st, 2006.

Please note: A number of these submissions have "Ice Dragon" as the herald of
record.  These submissions were not from Lady Eleanor of Waldren, Ice Dragon
Herald, but from the Consult Table at Ice Dragon, the event.  As best we can
recollect, the table consisted of Cigfran Caer Gwalch, Dagonell Whitehorn, 
Elizabeth Law, and Otfrid Ammerthaler


1.  Alianor de Ravenglas  New Device

"Argent, a bend azure between two ravens sable."

Conflict with:
Honor of Restormel|9711D|d|Argent, a bend azure between two lozenges sable.

2.  Alicia Hennenberg  New Device (kingdom level resub)

"Per pale sable and vert, two peacocks pavonated addorsed argent."

Clear of:
Maeve Kelly de Navarre|9408K|d|Purpure, two peacocks pavonated to base addorsed,
 tails crossed in saltire, on a chief urdy argent three fleurs-de-lys vert.

3.  Art n B‚cc  New Name and Device

"Gyronny purpure and sable, two griffins in bend rampant within a bordure argent."

The arms violate RfS VIII.2.b.iv " Elements evenly divided into multiple parts of two different tinctures must have good contrast between their parts."
The location precedes the charge type.  Rampant with wings is 'segreant'.
Blazon-fu: "... in bend two griffins segreant within a bordure argent."

In re-design, beware of:
Cynric Beyond the Mountain|9006E|d|Quarterly argent and sable, in bend sinister
two griffins segreant argent.

Lodovico della C=sta|9209Q|d|Per saltire purpure and sable, in fess two griffins
 passant addorsed argent.

We suggest: "Quarterly purpure and sable, in bend two griffins segreant within a 
bordure argent."


4.  Connor MEleam  Change of Device

"Per fess dovetailed azure and argent, in pale two greyhounds courant 
argent collared Or, and a portcullis sable."

No conflicts found.


5. Helena Lyncoln  New Name

We reluctantly agree with Aryanhwy, it is a nice name and it does conflict
with Elana of Lincoln.  She will be re-submitting shortly.


7.  Nikolai Bearslayer  New Name and Device

"Azure, on a pale between two bears combattant argent, 
two swords inverted in saltire crossed with a spear palewise sable."

Conflict with:
Angrim the Unreasonable|0010R|d|Azure, on a pale between two bears combattant 
each maintaining a battle axe argent a tower azure.
(1 CD for tower vs. weapons, 0 CD for battle-axes)


8.  Rashid al-Tayyib  New Device (kingdom level resub)

"Argent in chief two gophers courant to sinister, in base a gopher 
courant to dexter proper."

You can drop 'in chief', 'in base' and 'to dexter' since those are defaults.
