Letter of Intent #101
Heronter Heralds Commenting Group

Unto Garnet Herald, Cornelian Herald, and the Aethelmearc College of Arms;
Greetings from the Heronter Heralds, a division of the Heraldic Flying Circus
and Moving Company, Southwest.

Herein, our commentary on letter ILoI AE101, dated December 1st, 2006.

1. Barbary Rose New Name

Name: *Sigh!* We agree with Aryanhwy Albion, it's a conflict. :(

Device: "Gules, a dragon displayed and in chief a rose Or."

Cigfran questions whether the emblazon is recoverable from the blazon. Is
there a standard posture for a six limbed beast displayed? The rest of us
don't have a problem with it, particularly as 'a dragon displayed' as been
registered before.

Clear of:
Joseph the Good|0305W|D|"Gules, a Japanese dragon passant Or."
(1 CVD for posture, 1 CVD for rose,
0 CVD for Occidental dragon vs. Japanese dragon)

2. Clarice Roan Resubmitted Device

"Per fess azure and argent, a dove rising wings displayed and inverted argent
and a serpent embowed counter-embowed gules."

Clear of:
David of Bagulay|7309|D|
"Per fess azure and argent, in chief a dove rising and in base three lozenges,
all counterchanged."
(3 CVD for type, number and tincture of secondary)
Yes, we know Aryanhwy found this, but we found it also. Ditto, the ones
following, otherwise this would be a very short letter. :)

3. Clarice Roan New Badge

"(Fieldless) A dove rising wings displayed and inverted argent sustaining in
its claws a serpent embowed counter-embowed gules."

No conflicts found.

4. Gunnar of the Endless Hills New Name and Device

Name: We agree with Aryanhwy, add the extra 'r'.

Device: "Purpure, two horses combattant Or and on a chief argent, four roses
gules."

Clear of:
Frederic Martel|9611K|D|"Sable, two horses combatant and on a chief argent
three roses proper."
(1 CVD for field tincture, 1 CVD for horse tincture, 0 CVD for four vs. three)
**squeek!**

5. On¢ra inghean Chonaill New Device

"Vert, a seahorse argent and on a chief Or three shamrocks vert."

Clear of:
Karen of the Emerald Sea|8501W|D|"Vert, a seahorse erect argent and a chief
invected Or."
(1 CVD for line of partition, 1 CVD for tertiaries) **squeek!**

6. Verederosa Dal Sol New Name, New Device

Device: "Per fess argent and vert, a rose vert barbed and seeded and a sun in
splendor Or."

No conflicts found. We realize that the device is a cant upon the name,
"Vert + Rose + Sol", but we were also reminded of an old expression,
"Everything under the sun is under the rose."
