3: Ulrich von Baden - New Device Change OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in February of 2007, via Æthelmearc. Or, on a fess sable between two bars gules a bar argent. Old Item: Sable, a chevron throughout Or mullety sable
and in base a spear entwined by a serpent Or., to be retained. In support of charging a fess with a bar, the submitter provides: "European Rolls of Arms of the Thirteenth Century" [http://perso.numericable.fr/~briantimms/era/early%20rolls%20of%20arms.htm]:
Lothar von Katzenellenbogen, "Armorial of Arms from the Livre de Tournois by Rene of Anjou" [http://www.s-gabriel.org/heraldry/lothar/livredetournais.html], s.n. 50, Azure on a fess Or two barrulets gules. There was disagreement at kingdom at the whether the bars gules should be blazoned as such or blazoned as cotises. Given their thickness, and especially becuase their thickness matches that of the bar argent, I have blazoned them as bars. The above submission has images. 4: Verederosa Dal Sol - New Badge OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in May of 2007, via Æthelmearc. (Fieldless) On a rose vert a sun Or. We note the possible visual conflict with Roger of York (reg. 05/2000 via Ansteorra), "(Fieldless) A rose vert." It is our opinion that the identifiability of the tertiary sun in Verederosa's badge is adequate to distinguish the two pieces of armory. However, if Roger's rose is seeded Or, a visual comparison would be prudent. |
