1.     Aesthetically, is this device too modern?

  1. If in fact Tavast means ‘from Tavastland’, we suggest the submitter consider dropping the ‘of’ in their name choice.  Bera Tavastland would be perfectly acceptable.
  2. According to my understanding of the current rule set… the submitter would need a name that designates a group of people.  A road, or path between two places, would not suffice.
  3. Ciara appears to be a modern version of Ciar or Ceara.  We suspect the time when the given, and surnames would have been used in period is too great for submission.
  4. I suggest Mor be capitalized.  Making the submission Daitlu Mor mac Chernaich. (with all the appropriate accents.)  We also ask: should the device be reblazened as eradicated?

  10. of Tavastland.  As mentioned in #2.  Tavast means from Tavastland. So, this would be of from Tavastland.  We suggest dropping the ‘of’ in this submission.

16.  My suspicion is that Loria comes from a variant of Laurie.  I found Our Italian Surnames by Joseph G. Fucilla to show on pg. 83 Lauro deriving from the laurel. Lourini, Louretti are also found here. A search for Laurie will also direct me to this same name set.
