Unto Fridrikr Garnet and the AEthelmearc College of Heralds, greetings from
Margaret, Keystone.
Here are my comments on AE130. I hope they may prove useful.
1. Alethea Cowle - Device
Gules, an ermine spot and a chief embattled argent
No conflicts found.
Being a fan of terse blazons, I'd reblazon "Gules, an ermine spot a chief
embattled argent"
2. Annora Draper - Device
Per bend vert and argent, a compass star and a bordure sable
Conflict with Ansteorra, Kingdom of, registered in May of 1980 (via
Ansteorra):
(Ensign). There is only the CD for the [field].
Being a fan of terse blazons, I'd reblazon "Per bend vert and argent, a
compass star a bordure sable."
3. Eirikr in h{a/}vi - Name and device
Gyronny Or and vert, a bear rampant contourney within a bordure sable seme
of decrescents Or
Name: documentation looks good/checks out, no conflicts found.
Device: Blazon is good, although it would equally good without the
unnecessary "within" (all charges are within a bordure unless the overlie
the bordure)
Stylewise, this would be better with a slightly side bordure and larger,
butcher decrescents. That said, the depiction here is certainly
registerable.
No conflicts found.
4.Eleanora de Rosewycke - Name and Device
Purpure, a chalice argent and in chief three roses argent barbed and seeded
Or
Name: No conflicts found.
Documentation checks out. On the byname, "The Lives of the British Saints:
The Saints of Wales, Cornwall and ...," Volume 2 By S. Baring-Gould, John
Fisher
(http://books.google.com/books?id=uE3pXSdZd5gC&pg=PA186&dq=%22de+Rosewycke%22&hl=en&ei=PxSATJKTNMOBlAewq9nYDw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CDcQ6AEwAw#v=onepage&q=%22de%20Rosewycke%22&f=false),
p 186, dates "Stae. Crucis de Rosewycke" to 1261.
Device: As a far of terse blazones and drop the "and" before "in chief"
Close, but clear of Jacquetta Edington of Yorkshire, registered in August
of 2001 (via Atlantia): Purpure, a goblet and in chief three roses Or.
There is a CD each for the tincture of the goblet and the roses. This is
the nearest I found.
5. G{u:}nther Schwarzrose - badge
Argent, a rose sable within a bordure (engrailed?) gules.
My favorite rule of thumb for engrailed vs invected is
Engrailed = Cups
Invected = Infected (so if it looks like a puffy infection, it's invected)
Reblazon "Argent, a rose sable within a bordure invected gules"
No conflicts found.
6. Jacqueline de Molieres - device
Gules, a heart and a chief rayonny enarched Or
On the chief rayonny enarched, Andreas Jäger von Holstein. Name and
device. Argent, a bear sejant erect sable and on a chief enarched rayonny
gules a lightning bolt argent was registered in 92007 without comment. I
also found this on the 5/2002 :
Justinian the Gentle. Name and device. Or, an elephant rampant and on a
chief enarched and invected azure a crescent between two musical notes
argent.
To quote from the LoAR of June 1997, "While it is true that lines could be
enarched and also embattled, engrailed, et cetera, the enarching was
basically to show the curvature of the shield". Enarched lines are an
exception to the general practice of disallowing the combination of two
different complex lines of partition into one line of partition, so this
enarched and invected chief may be accepted.
All in all, I'd say a chief enarched rayonny is registerable. However, this
might have too many rayons; bigger and fewer might be better. Essentially,
that's a call for Wreath.

7. Katheryn Täntzel - name
Documentation checks out. No conflicts found.
8. Maureen of Abhainn Ciach Ghlais - name and device
Purpure, a unicorn rampant contourny argent and on a chief engrailed Or
three harps vert
Name - Self-formed "holding" name. (which is to say not a holding name, but
what would be registered as a holding name should it be required.) Should
be fine. No conflicts found.
The rule of thumb is more than 8 (RfS VIII.1.a "As a rule of thumb, the
total of the number of tinctures plus the number of types of charges in a
design should not exceed eight."). A complexity count of 7 is fine,
especially when the design is well-balanced as is the case here. From 12/95:
Ambrosius MacDaibhidh. Device. Or, a pale azure and on a chief sable three
plates, all within a bordure gules.
Though as noted by many of the commenters this submission had a complexity
count of nine, with five tinctures and four types of charges, it is
nonetheless well-balanced, relatively simple overall, and certainly well
within the spirit of the rule of thumb limits for complexity of RfS
VIII.1.a. (It must also be kept in mind that the rule of thumb contained in
RfS VIII.1.a. is just that, a rule of thumb and not a hard and fast limit.)
No conflicts found. Closest I noticed was Sarah MacColin, registered in
August of 1979:
Purpure, a unicorn rampant to sinister argent and in sinister chief a
mullet Or.
There is a CD for type from mullet to chief invected, and a second CD for
adding/removing the tertiary charges.
and
Abigail Elizabeth Mihell, registered in January of 1993 (via Caid):
Pean, a unicorn rampant contourny argent, on a chief invected Or two roses
gules.
with a CD for the field, and a second for the changes in tertiary charges
(both devices are X.4.j.ii simple, so the complete change of type of
tertiaries clears, but even if they weren't, the tertiaries are different
in type, number, and tincture, which would still count for a CD.)
9. Saint Swithin's Bog, Barony of - badge
(Fieldless) A stand of three cattails slipped and leaved proper
I believe this is clear of conflict. Closest I found was:
Rokeclif, Shire of, registered in May of 2002 (via the Middle):
(Fieldless) A cattail slipped and leaved proper.
and I think you'll get a CD for three shafts vs one. Might want to check
the emblazon for Rokeclif, though.
10. Sorcha McKenzie - name and device
Per fess azure and sable, a phoenix and in chief a heart sustained by a
pair of hands fesswise aversant argent
Name: Note that "McKenzie" is a scribally abbreviated form for MacKenzie,
and should be expanded to the latter form. No conflicts found.
Device: No conflicts found.
