Unto the College of Heralds of the Kingdom of AEthelmearc and to all to whom these words shall come, greeting from Dagonell Collingwood, Garnet Herald.
Good gentles, permit me to introduce myself.
I am Lord Dagonell Collingwood, more commonly called Dagonell the Juggler. My persona is an Englishman, however the time period ranges from War of the Roses to the Elizabethan era. I have been in the SCA for over ten years and have been a herald for most of it.
Mundanely, I am David P. Salley from Buffalo, N.Y. (Barony of Rhydderich Hael). I am a professional computer programmer currently working as Customer Service / Tech Support for Plantrol Systems Limited. I am married to Dr. Karen Ehrlich, Lady Cigfran Caer Gwalch, who is a computer science professor at University of Fredonia.
Comments on this letter are due by January 1. You are free to comment on all or any part of the letter. I welcome e-mail comments if your computer hasn't succumbed to the Y2K bug. My site address is "salley@klaatu.canisius.edu". If you prefer to see the ILoI electronically, I also maintain the AEthelmearc College of Heralds web-page. It can be reached via the AEthelmearc home page or its own URL at "http://www-cs.canisius.edu/~salley/heralds.html" Please note, that is a hyphen between "www" and "cs", not a period. Unfortunately, it will be a text-only posting, as I do not currently have access to a scanner. If you have regular access to a scanner and would be willing to scan in the ILoIs, please contact me. The web-site will also have a list of all the submissions as I receive them. These will be included in the next letter of intent.
I have recently added the e-mail addresses of Silver Buccle's staff to the web-page. If you are a member of Silver Buccle's staff, please check to see that your e-mail address is correct. Eventually, I would like to add the e-mail addresses of the local heralds and commentators. If you would like your e-mail address added, please contact me.
Finally, I would like to thank my assistant, Sayidda Shahira bint al-Sammad for helping me to draw, copy and color in all of the Pennsic submissions. And now, on with the show!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Dagonell
