Unto Lord Dagonell Collingwood, Garnet Herald of the glorious Sylvan Kingdom of AEthelmearc, come Greetings from the Heraldic Flying Circus and Moving Company
Herewith, our comments on ILOI #Æ50, dated May 2001 A.D. [sic]:
New Name: The documentation gives the name as "Stas". Is adding the "n" correct?
New device: Zils are in default position, per PicDic #818. We suggest reblazoning as simply: "...two scimitars crossed at the hilts argent."
New Device: Dolphins are "haurient".
New badge: Emblazon shows the roses "barbed and seeded proper".
New Device: There was considerable discussion whether "estencele" is a field treatment (in which case it may be used on a vetu) or a group of charges semy (in which case it cannot). According to PicDic (under "SPARKS") estencele is "a semy of sparks", but "sparks are not used as individual charges".
New Badge: The first "argent" is redundant. The blazon says "...a bordure engrailed...", the emblazon shows a bordure invected. Which does the submitter want?
New Device: Note that this device violates the ban on counterchanging a long, thin object along its long axis (Precedents of Baldwin of Erebor, 31 Oct 84, p.21). The submitter was informed of this at the time of submission.
New Name: Since "the Bold" is being used as a lingua anglia descriptive byname, the Reaney & Wilson citation is irrelevant.
New Name: We are not familiar with Mills. Can we get better bibliographic information?
New Name: Note that the citation from Withycombe specifically states that the name was "carried to Spain by the Goths, and took root there as Rosalinda". Is the form "of <kingdom>"presumptuous?
New Badge: The primary charge obscures a complex line of division between two colors.
New Name: What specifically does the citation say about "Tessa"?
New Device: A ferret with a bordure ermine? "Hello. My name is Inigo de Ferret. You killed my father. Prepare to die." :-)
