MacMahon, according to the information about the MacMahon family on the "Eolas na hEireann, Information about Ireland" website (http://homepage.tinet.ie/~kthomas/names8.htm), "comes from the Irish Mac Mathghamha, from mathghamhain, meaning 'bear.' .[...] the MacMahons were part of the great tribal grouping, the Dal gCais, and claim descent from Mahon O’Brien, grandson of Brian Boru."
The Garnet office was unable to come to a consensus as to whether or not this is in conflict with
Drachnwald’s Company of Archers (Or, in pale a dragon passant coward sable and two arrows in saltire
gules). The issue is whether the arrows are considered a single charge (like a sheaf) or two separate
charges. If the arrows are two separate charges, then this is clear with one CD for the change of type of
half the primaries, and another CD for the change in number of primaries. If the arrows are a single
charge, this is in conflict. (And yes, this is why there really should be only one of us. Oh well. ^_^)
