Letter of Intent #71
Aryanhwy merch Catmael
Greetings from Aryanhwy merch Catmael!
1. Alicia Hennenberg - <Alicia> is a Latin form of <Alice>, which
derives in a roundabout way from the German <Adelheid>. The
name is registerable as is, but I'm providing info on <Adelheid>
mostly for the submitter's interest:
In Silesia, the name is recorded as <Aleyd> 1384, <Alusch> 1384,
and <Alke> 1347 (the last two are pet forms).

In Arnsburg, in Latin, the name is recorded as <Adelheidis>,
<Aleidis>, three times.

In various places, the name is recorded as <Adelheit> in 1495.

Bahlow has other forms, as well.
2. Aurenca Mouly - May I again compliment the submitter on her
lovely taste in armory and badges? No conflict found.
3. Eumathios Bempetziotes - Lovely name! It should be noted,
to remove any confusion, that <Bempetziotes> is recorded in
the cited source as a family name.
4. Henry Clarence - Lovely name and arms. No conflicts found.
5. James Irvin - You still have to summarize what the S. Gabriel
report says. <Irvin> is part of a list of surnames found in
the West Borders. The list is prefaced: "Quotations and dated
spellings come from Scottish records, mostly between 1450 and 1650."
and the citation is for Black. <Irvin> is found s.n. Irvine,
but is not explicitly dated. He would be better off with one of
the dated forms.
I'm not sure what a 'riband' is, but I think the swords are actually
bound with a _ribbon_.
7. Wynterset, Stronghold of - This must be redrawn; the laurel wreath
is not circular. From Francois:
"... the laurel wreath is not drawn correctly. "A properly drawn laurel
wreath should not have sufficient room between its tips to place another
charge. [Darkstone, College of, 02/00, R-Middle]" [Uma, Shire of, 10/01,
R-Drachenwald]"
Here are all my comments for this month.
