Many thanks to June's commenters: Aryanhwy, Cnute, the Comet group (Cadell Comet, Kieran MacRae, Odriana vander Brugghe), and Myfanwy ferch Rhiannon. Keep up the great work, guys! You'll have a break this month, but make sure to rest up because the September letter will include the Pennsic submissions and is certain to be large.
The items accepted in this letter have been forwarded to Laurel on XLoI Æ79 (July 25); they will be decided on in November 2004.
Azure, a torii Or and in base two katanas in saltire argent hilted sable, a bordure Or.
Azure, a chevron Or and a chief embattled ermine.
Azure, a decrescent argent within an orle Or.
Per fess argent and sable, a moon in her plentitude azure and a wolf sejant ululant contourny argent, a bordure per fess sable and argent.
Sable, three chevronels braced argent and in chief two eyes argent irised azure.
Gules, two axes addorsed in saltire within an orle argent.
Quarterly purpure and argent, a talbot's head erased contourny counterchanged argent and gules collared sable between 3 tygers rampant contourny counterchanged argent and gules.
Quarterly purpure and argent, a talbot's head erased counterchanged argent and gules.
Per bend sinister azure and vert, two frogs sejant Or.
Purpure, three fleurs-de-lys argent and a bordure ermine.
Submitted as Fenella McGill, Fenella is a modern Anglicized form only. We have changed the spelling to the closest-sounding, documentable period form we could find.
Sable, an anchor argent and in chief five mullets three and two Or.
Per fess rayonny gules and sable, a gauntleted fist argent.
By long-standing precedent, a low-contrast complex line of division such as this per fess rayonny gules and sable may not be obscured by a charge. Thus we are returning this device for redesign.
Gules, a fret couped argent within an orle Or.
We are uncertain as to whether or not this armory is in conflict with that of Anézka z Rozmitála (Gules, in dexter chief a fret couped argent). While there is one CD for the addition of the orle, the presence of the orle in Gyles' badge may essentially force it out of dexter chief and into the center of the field. Depending on interpretation, this may be a strange case of a "forced change of position." Since we are not sure whether or not a second CD for change of position is possible, we defer to Wreath's final judgment.
Per pale gules and azure, an orle of camels Or.
Nice name!
Azure, a fess embattled Or and overall a sword proper enflamed gules.
We intend to forward this device to Laurel, but were unable to have it redrawn before our print deadline. We will redraw the enflaming of the sword to change it from "on a flame a sword" (which has several problems, for number of layers and for contrast reasons) to "a sword enflamed" with the sword surrounded by small, separate gouttes of flame.
Argent, a bend azure between an increscent gules and a sword, a bordure sable.
Azure, on a pile between two bees Or a bee inverted azure.
Azure, on a bend sinister argent between two eagles Or, three roses gules.
Azure, in fess three peacocks pavonated to base Or.
Unfortunately, this lovely device is being returned for conflict with Tavia of Persia (Azure, a simurgh close Or). There is one CD for changing the number of primary charges, but there is not a CD for change of type between a simurgh and a peacock.
Gules, three chevronels braced and in chief an apple argent.
Argent, three chevronels braced gules.
Unfortunately, this lovely badge is being returned for multiple conflicts: Aryana Silknfyre (Argent, three chevronels braced gules, in chief a compass-star sable) with only one CD for the removal of the secondary compass star, and Cardinal Richelieu, (Armand Jean du Plessis, Cardinal de Richelieu - Argent, three chevrons gules) with only one CD for changes to arrangement (i.e. braced vs. unbraced).
Gules, a stag's head cabossed and in chief a cinquefoil argent.
