It is the intent of the Æthelmearc College of Heralds that the following items be considered for registration. Unless noted otherwise, submitters will accept any changes.


1.  Tancred of Thescorre – New Name

The name is intended to be masculine. The submitter will accept all changes, and cares most about sound and Norman language and culture of the 11th-13th century. The submitter is not requesting authenticity.

Tancred - Withycombe, 3rd ed., p. 275, s.n. Tancred, describes <Tancred> as the Norman French spelling.

Dauzat, Dictionnaire des Noms de Famille et Prenoms de France, p. 562, s.n. Tancrède, describes the name as an ancient baptismal name of German origin, a Norman name (11th c.).

Thescorre – SCA group name registered as the Barony of Thescorre “at some point”, according to the online Armorial.

2.  Wilhelm Smydele von Soelinge – Resubmitted Device

Argent, a double-horned anvil sable within a bordure vert. 

His name was registered in April of 2004.

His previous device submission, Argent, a griffin sergeant gules, winged sable, haloed Or, maintaining a rapier, a bordure sable, was returned for conflict (LoR Æ87).
