Letter of Intent #92
Roana d'Evreux
Greetings from Roana, who's
trying to get back into
the habit of doing internal commentary ...
----
1. Clarice Roan – New Name, New Device
"Per fess azure and argent, a dove rising argent sustaining in its
claws a serpent embowed counter-embowed gules."
I'm in agreement with everyone else on the list who's been expressing
concern over this piece of armory. As blazoned, the dove *is*
required to be entirely on the azure portion of the field, although the
serpent could theoretically be drawn crossing the line of
division. I think there's a small case for the blazon being all
right as it is -- unfortunately, the real problem with *blazoning* this
design is that it's not a very *heraldic* design to begin with, alas.

2. Fredeburg von Katzenellenbogen – New Name, New Device
"Vert, two bars gemels and in chief a lion passant argent."
Just a small point of grammar - the proper plural of "bar gemel" is
"bars gemel" - no terminal 's' on gemel.
----
That's it - the rest of the letter looks good to me.
