Alheydis
von Körckhingen, OL, serves the kingdom of AEthelmearc as Garnet
Herald, processing all heraldic submissions both internally (for
in-kingdom commentary) and externally (outbound to the Society-wide
College of Arms). Her interest in heraldry began at a very early
age, when her father quizzed her on heraldic terms.
Mistress Alheydis and The AEthelmearc College of Arms website have been
honored as the recipient of the William Blackfox award for best special
interest website, which honors guild websites, research websites, and
Arts & Science focus websites. The annual Master William Blackfox
Awards honors the memory of Master William Blackfox, the author and
illustrator of the cartoon Warthaven.
He gave generously of his time and talents, and was very supportive of
the Kingdom Chroniclers until his untimely death. The Office of the
Society Chronicler sponsors the competition to recognize excellence in
the work of Chroniclers and newsletter contributors. In 2007, the award
was extended to recognize SCA Websites.
