Noon Court.

Their Majesties called Their Order of the Laurel and asked if it was still their wish to council the candidate sent to them at Myrkfaelinn War Practice. They collectively affirmed that it was. Her Ladyship Bridgette Kelly MacLean was invited before the assembly and shortly escorted out to her vigil tent by the Order.

Court was briefly interrupted by Baroness Gwendolyn the Graceful who had just received an urgent missive from the BMDL regarding Their Majesties’ kinswoman. It seems that “someone” had commissioned Master Michael Alewright to commemorate Baroness Orianna Fridrikskona’s birthday, in verse, which was then read aloud for the entertainment of one and all.

Kingdom Minister of Arts and Sciences, Baroness Elizabeth Johanna von der Flossenburg, and THLady Juliana Delamare, Chancellor of the AEcademy stepped forward to thank all of the teachers who had conducted such a wondrous variety of classes. Her Excellency then asked the current Fellows of the AEcademy to stand, three of the five being present, and she did name five new Fellows who had made outstanding contributions to the AEcademy through their work, their teaching, their inspiration and encouragement of others: Baroness Alison of the Many Isles, Mistress Rhiannon y Bwa, Master Valgardr Gunnarsson, THLady Solveig Throndarsdottir and Baroness Katja Davidova Orlova Khazarina (scrolls by Antoinette de la Croix, words by Giullietta da Venezia).

Their Majesties called for Their Order of the Millrind and expressed Their desire to add to their numbers. THLady Juliana Delamare and Master Valgardr Gunnarsson were called forth and commended for their outstanding service to the Shire of Misty Highlands, and greeted by their new companions of the Order (her scroll by Gianna de Aurelio).

Lord Thorvaaldr Frirsverth was invited to approach Their Majesties, having first divested himself of two knives, it was his art of bladesmithing and metalwork Their Majesties wished to recognize and They did call for Their Order of the Fleur d’AEthelmearc, thus adding him to their ranks and Granting him Arms (scroll by Juliana Delamare).

Their Majesties requested Their Order of the Laurel to attend Them, and received affirmation that they had counseled the candidate most thoroughly. Her Ladyship, Bridgette Kelly MacLean was invited before the Court and stood by as the Peers attested to her worth and the impressive qualities of her arts and research: Master John the Pell spoke for the Chivalry, Baron Fridrikr for the Pelicans, Countess Caryl as a Lady of the Rose commented on Bridgette’s “poodle-like” qualities, and for the Laurels Patrikia Maria Agrissa Sgourina articulated her pride at being able to address her as a Peer and acknowledge her as a research Laurel. Having heard all of this, Their Majesties asked Bridgette to continue to teach and to learn, to guide and comfort others and uphold the laws of AEthelmearc; They asked the assembled Peers and the populace to lend her their aid as she embarks on a new path, and to continue to teach and to learn with her. Their Majesties called for the regalia of her new rank and presented her with a suite of brooches by the hand of Lord Pearce Redsmith. After swearing her heartfelt oath upon the Sword of State, Their Majesties presented Mistress Bridgette Kelly MacLean to her new Companions of the most noble Order of the Laurel (vellum scroll callig by Hrefna in heppna, words by Elianora Mathewes, seals by Rhiannon y Bwa and Bedwyr Danwyn).

Duchess Rowan de la Garnison, event co-autocrat addressed a few words to the assembly.
