Report of the Court of Their Majesties Christopher and Morgen, King and Queen of Aethelmearc, held at Their Coronation in the Canton of Steltonwald on the 9th day of April anno societatis 45, THLord Brandubh Ó Donnghaile, Silver Buccle, with the assistance of THLord Cadell Blaidd du.

Coronation Court.

His Majesty Christopher called for His Consort, Princess Morgen of Rye, to join Him.  She swore her oath to serve the kingdom of Aethelmearc and King Christopher placed the crown of Aethelmearc upon her brow proclaiming her Queen of Aethelmearc.

Their Majesties then called for Their Parents Count Duncan von Halstern and Countess Ilish O’Donovan to approach the thrones.  Their Majesties thanked them for their service to Aethelmearc as they sat the thrones and guarded the land, and recognized their status as a Duke and Duchess of Aethelmearc.  Promissory scroll by Victoria Black and Catherine Wolfe.

Their Majesties received the Great Officers of State of Aethelmearc who renewed their vows of service to the realm.  They then received the members of the Peerage Orders.  After Their Majesties swore to uphold the ideals of each Order, the Orders renewed their vows to serve the kingdom.  Lastly Her Ladyship Hilderun Hugelmann came forth as a representative of the populace and witnessed Christopher and Morgen’s vows to serve the populace in accordance with the laws and customs granted by Their ancestors. 

Their Majesties Received Their Excellencies Byron and Ariella, Baron and Baroness of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands, Their Excellencies Aquila and Bronwyn, Baron and Baroness of Thescorre, Her Excellency Katherine, Baroness of Blackstone Mountain, and Their Excellencies Caoinlean and Cynthia, Baron and Baroness of Saint Swithin’s Bog and received oaths of fealty from each for the lands that they hold in trust for the crown.

Lord Ogami Arashimoto no Shirou was summoned and questioned if was still willing to take on the duties of Queen Morgen’s safe keeping as They had discussed.  Lord Shirou replied that he was prepared to give this service to the crown, and so Their Majesties installed him as the Captain of Her Majesty’s Guard.

Baroness Cecily of Whitehaven was called forward, and Their Majesties questioned her if she were ready to take on the duties of coordinating Their Majesties persons and Their schedules.  Baroness Cecily replied that she was so prepared and Their Majesties installed her as the Chamberlain of Their reign.

The line of succession of the Crowns of Aethelmearc was read and Their Majesties Christopher and Morgen were presented to the populace there assembled as the 28th Sovereigns of the Sylvan Kingdom of Aethelmearc.

Their Majesties announced that the competition to determine Their Arts and Sciences Champion would commence after court, and invited all present to add their works to the display.

Their Majesties invited all to join Them in watching the tournament to select Their Youth Champion after court on the Tournament field, and to visit the bake sale and raffle to support the youth fighting at Pennsic.

Their Majesties announced that they would be sitting in state beginning one half hour after court and invited the populace to seek Them out there.

First Court of Christopher and Morgen.

Their Majesties invited The Kingdom Champion, THLord Gareth Kincaid, to attend Them.  THLord Gareth approached the thrones and turned to face the populace and issued a challenge.  He threw down his gage, and demanded that any present that would stand and say that King Christopher was not the Rightful and Undoubted heir to the Crown of Aethelmearc pick up the gauntlet and answer to him as a liar and false traitor.  Their Majesties thanked THLord Gareth for his good faith and invited him to join Their court.

Count Jehan de la Marche was invited to attend the court.  Count Jehan had been given the scepters of the kingdom of Aethelmearc by Duncan and Ilish, and he presented them to Christopher and Morgen as Their property as the sovereigns of the Kingdom of Aethelmearc.

Their Majesties invited THLady Zoe Akropolitina forward to speak for the Youth Marshallate.  She announced that 8 youths had competed that day to vie for the position of Youth Champion of the Kingdom.  Their Majesties then called for Robert of the Debatable Lands and Aaron the Swift to attend Them.  They thanked them both for their service to the realm as they had both served as Youth Champions, but they were now relieved of their regalia.  Their Majesties proclaimed Aaron the Swift as Their Youth Champion.  Scroll by Mistress Katerina Affodil and Baroness Ekaterina Volkova.  The Youth Marshals, further announced that the raffle and bake sale had raised $191.25 to benefit the Youth Fighting Point at Pennsic.  They then drew the raffles and presented a helm to Baroness Betha of Bedford and Embroidered Bags to Lady Sthurrim Caithnes and Lady Caillen of the Debatable Lands.

Their Majesties invited THLord Robert Marston to speak as the Autocrat of the day and he presented the Populous choice in the Arts and Sciences display to Lady Roxanne de St Luc.  Their Majesties agreed with the populace in this matter and called Lady Roxanne de St Luc to attend Them naming her Their Champion of Arts and Sciences for her Japanese Hawk Scroll commemorating Sir Ogami Akira’s induction into the Order of the Millrind, and thanked Lady Thyri erbewyf for her service to the kingdom as outgoing Arts and Sciences Champion.  Scroll limned by Lady Margarita d’Sienna and scrivened by Catherine Wolfe.

Mistress Baga Aleea was invited to enter the court, and she presented a check for $1500.00 to Their Majesties as the result of her fundraising to go into a fund for the purpose of making new kingdom thrones.

Their Majesties invited Sir Ogami Akira to attend Them.  They questioned him if her were prepared to serve the Crown of Aethelmearc and give advice to Her Majesty as she may require.  He replied that he would give such advice, and Their Majesties installed him as the Her Majesty’s Chivalry Advisor.

Mistress Ts’vee’a bas Tseepora Levi was invited to attend Their Majesties and presented a token in thanks for her many labors in sewing Their Majesties’ coronation garb.

Their Majesties called Eiiden Abdul Salam ibn Salat to attend Them.  They had heard and seen much of this promising young fighter.  For three years he had participated in the youth combat program, and had made his kit of leather scale, and heated his weapons so that they might be bent to better resemble those swords of the Middle East, and taught classes to make armor and weapons in this fashion, and so it pleased Their Majesties to induct him into the Order of the Silver Alce.  Scroll by Mistress Arianna of Wynthrope.

Their Majesties Awarded Arms to Isabel Fleuretan for her great love of the arts.  She had taking a great joy in the arts of weaving and braiding, and had become quite skilled at inkle weaving, tablet weaving, and kumihimo.  She taught classes in these arts and wove the trim that adorned her garb, and donated her kumihimo braids to the kingdom for award medallions.  Scroll by Lady Sthurrim Caithnes upon a text by THLord Cadell Blaidd du.

Robert of the Debatable Lands was called forth, and Their Majesties praised him for his skills in Youth Combat, a steady fighter at weekly practice and willing to teach newer fighters, and served as co-kingdom youth champion.  The arrows from his bow found their marks on the target, and he holds that rank of Master Bowman, and leads the all time high score for the youth division in the Gwyntarian Winter Archery Challenge.  He works in Kitchens, and set up, cleans up and tears down site before and after events.  He spins wool, and his finest spinning has been used to embroider tunics, he learns the art of fletching arrows, and is making a dozen arrows for the youth who scores the highest in Gwyntarian Challenge.  For all of this Their Majesties were moved to Award him Arms.  Scroll by Mistress Arianna of Wynthrope.

Their Majesties called upon Master Alaric MacConnal to attend, as They had heard much of his love for Archery.  He had recently attained the rank of Master Bowman, and has been an avid enthusiast in the Gwyntarian Winter Archery Challenge, putting in scores in three different bow forms, and holding a score in the top 20 across the known world in that competition, and so it pleased Their Majesties to induct him into the Order of the Golden Alce.  Scroll by Ordianna vander Brugghe and THLord Kieran MacRae.

Their Majesties then Invited Duc Henri d’Artois to attend Them.  They asked him if he were willing to serve the armies of the Kingdom of Aethelmearc, and he replied that it was his duty as a Knight to do so.  And so Their Majesties received his Oath of Service and installed him into the Office of High Constable of Aethelmearc and charged him to lead the armies as Warlord a the Pennsic War.  Duc Henri called the kingdom of Aethelmearc to arms to join the armies of the known world on the field of battle at the Pennsic War.  In order to do so, he with Their Majesties installed several Knights Bannerette charged with raising the armies and bringing them to Pennsic, already Duke Maynard von dem Steine, Sir Olafr Thorvardarson, Sir Graedwynn mab Teyrnon, Ertekhan Khalek Shurrag Od, and Master John the Pell had accepted the duties as Knights Bannerette to prepare the armies for War.  Sir Olafr came forward and added his words that he was committed to the war effort.

THLord Robert Marston was called forth as Autocrat.  He thanked everyone for attending, and invited all to eat more food, as the side board was still full.  He thanked his staff for the event for all their efforts to put the event together.  Their Majesties agreed that he had given great service to the realm that day, and for decades before as marshal and chirurgeon and officer.  Their Majesties then summoned the Companions of the Order of the Pelican present to come forth and take His Lordship Robert from Them, and return him to Their Majesties’ keeping at War Practice where he would answer whether or not he would accept elevation into their most noble ranks.  Writ by the hand of THLady Collette de Paris.

Their Majesties thanked all the Populace for attending the happy day of Their Coronation, and extended Their thanks to all who worked to insure the success of the event.
