Andreas and Kallista
June 16, AS 47 (2012)
Summer Æthelmearc Academy
Shire of Misty Highlands

The Report of the Court of Their Sylvan Majesties Andreas and Kallista, King and Queen of Aethelmearc, held at the Summer Aethelmearc Academy in the Shire of Misty Highlands on the sixteenth day of June anno societatis xxxxvii, with Her Highness Branwyn, Princess of Aethelmearc, in attendance, Maistir Brandubh Ó Donnghaile, Silver Buccle, with the assistance of THLady Ysabeau Tiercelin.

Their Majesties invited the Autocrats of the event, Mistress Juliana Delamare and Arias Beltran del Valle, to attend Them.  They thanked their staff, the academy staff and all the teachers and students who attended the event.

Their Majesties invited the Academy Staff forth, THLady Odrianna vander Brugghe, Chancellor of the Academy, Baron Uilliam Mac an Tsaoir, Dean of the War College and Mistress Alianor de Ravenglas, Kingdom Minister of Arts and Sciences.  They thanked the teachers who traveled from the far reaches and close by for attending and sharing their knowledge with the kingdom.  They thanked the students who attended those classes who allowed the classes to be taught.  And they gave special thanks to Alionora who stepped in to teach the beginning dance class after the teacher could not attend.  They further thanked all of the Marshals who attended to teach and to run the melees and authorizations.

The three then asked Their Majesties for one further favor, and asked that they be allowed to create a Fellow of the Aethelmearc Academy as has been the tradition at Academy.  Their Majesties agreed that this was a right and proper tradition and that it ought to be continued and so They called for Mistress Juliana Delamare to attend Them.  Juliana had served the Academy as a past Chancellor, continues to teach regularly at the Academy sessions, and autocrated so that the Academy would happen.  So the staff of the Academy by Royal Proclamation created her a Fellow of the Academy.  Scroll by THLady Ysabeau Tiercelin.

Their Majesties then called for Their Arts and Sciences Champion Baron Fintan na Coilled, as the day had featured an Arts and Sciences competition to select his successor.  Their Majesties spoke that Their Choice had been exceedingly hard as so many items of quality displaying a depth of research had been entered this day, but They had settled on the best of the entries and called for THLady Anlatih ingen Trena to attend Them.  Anlaith had submitted both fiber works and scribal works, but Their Majesties had chosen her portrait of Saint Catharine of Alexandria as the best of the items displayed that day, and so They invited her to stand as Their Champion of the Arts and Sciences and join Their retinue.  Scroll limned by Lord Angellino the Bookmaker and scrivened by Sarah Tuttle.

Their Majesties then spoke to Her Highness Branwyn to ask if she had seen the Arts and Sciences display that day.  Her Highness replied that she had, and as Their Majesties had spoken earlier, She also had much difficulty selecting a favorite of the items there.  Their Majesties agreed that all the items were of impressive quality and it was Their tradition to invite an artisan from each event to display at the Arts and Sciences display at Pennsic.  However as all the items impressed, They invited all the artisans there to display their entries at Pennsic.

Abatissa of Banbury was called forward.  Their Majesties spoke to her that They had seen much of her lately.  She dived into the society creating arts and sciences and serving the society.  She researched projects and had entered the arts and sciences competition at Ice Dragon, she made sekanjabin for her barony, created 100 award tokens for the barony, served in kitchens, baked bread, harvested yeast and served as head server for feast.  This all impressed Their Majesties so that They Awarded her Arms.  Scroll unsigned.

Their Majesties called for Arias Beltran del Valle to come forward, They had seen much of him during the day as he served as co-autocrat.  Their Majesties had also seen him fight, and enter the tournament of the White Hart.  He acted as Chatelaine for Misty Highlands, and was a Herald as well.  For this They Awarded him Arms.  Scroll by THLady Anlaith ingen Trena with words by Mistress Juliana Delamare.

Joseph of Misty Highlands, was called forward and Awarded Arms, for he was known as Super Joe on the Battlefield.  For four years he had fought as a member of the Sable Maul forces, and he proudly carried their banner into the fray.  Scroll by The Two Turnbulls.

Their Majesties called upon Ulrich von Schwartzburg to attend Them, as They had also heard great words of his fighting prowess amongst the ranks of House Sable Maul.  6 years had he served the armies of Aethelmearc upon the heavy fields and so Their Majesties inducted him into the Order of the Golden Alce.  Scroll by THLady Ismay Ponde upon a text by Count Jehan de la Marche, translated into German by Baroness Elisabeth Johanna von Flossenburg.

Countess Genevieve du Vent Argent was invited to come forward and she implored Their Majesties to hear her words.  She spoke of a great slight and insult that had been issued and that Master Tofi Kerthjalfadsson and Master Toki Redbeard would bring a suit against Master Fridrikr Tomasson av Knuslig Hamn.  They raised this lawsuit against Master Fridrikr that he acted a Member of the Laurel, he researches, teaches Viking culture and history as well as creates written words of Poetry and Prose in the Icelandic styles, but yet he does not wear the tokens of the Order of the Laurel and goes so far as to shun the assemblies of the order.  This insult cannot stand, and Countess Genevieve did demand that Their Majesties hear this case.  Their Majesties called for Master Fridrikr Tomasson to attend and called for witnesses of the Order of the Laurel and informed him that They would take this lawsuit and that They take it and make it Their Own, and They serve him writ of summons to prepare his case and his defense and attend Them at the Thyng called Pax Interruptus where Their Majesties will prosecute and judge the case and pass sentence on him.  Master Fridrikr replied that he accepted these terms and he would prepare his case and call witnesses as was his right and attend Their Majesties at Pax.  Writ by Baroness Ekaterina Volkova upon a text by Master Toki Redbeard.

Her Highness thanked all present for a wonderful event, for those who attended her class and especially those who met and defended Her on the field of combat that day.

Their Majesties thanked all the teachers, marshals, students and fighters for attending, and making the event a success.  This event showcases the educational side of the Society, and today the dedication to the arts and sciences through research and teaching shone most brightly throughout the realm and was simply remarkable.
